Probably correct. Again not expecting much scoring in this one. It is very early but this team kinda reminds me of 2011.
Kearney by 14 to 21 points. RaySouth is no Fort Osage...and K nearly beat them.
K looked good on their first drive. Then completely inept on offense. Horrible late midfield pass attempts, incomplete passes that were yards away from receivers, and a complete inability to run outside. Just shut down on the ground. Both their QBs were ineffective. And they still almost won the game against Fort. So if they can just get to functional, they should be in the running for winning District 8 again.

The schedule softened a bunch the second half of that season. Offense looked very ragged the first three games and at Staley Week 5. I expect similar this year IF they get the QB situation squared away.

Going to the semis + four years in a row has me spoiled I admit. Did not also realize until the other day looking it up this is the first time since Jones first season (2006) they opened with a loss. I hope to be able to get out to see them the second half of this season...........
It might be mid season before that offense is working good. Platte County, Smithville, and Excelsior Springs would all like to be more relevant come playoff time.

Ray South returned a lot from a team that, when healthy, was dangerous last year. Interesting 810varsity is picking the Cards.
810 Varsity has Smithville, Liberty, Liberty North, and Platte County all ranked higher than Kearney. They don't care about recent history.
