Kearney lost....again. lol

Time to admit that they are the same Kearney team that can't ever win enough games to play Webb when it actually matters or are you going to glob on to the winning record

Webb may have by far the best record, system, program...But you have to admit, when Kearney is real good, their better than Webb. Look st the scores.

I dunno,,,,,remember they turbo clocked us in maybe 03???

But we already had 3-4 losses and were not very good that year.

This team isn't on that level - the offense is too one dimensional (and they don't get creative enough with Connery (like splitting him out into the slot when the D is stacked), there's no TE to work the middle.
The D is improved at the corner (last year's weakness), but I've never been sold that it was substantially better (overall) than last year's squad. I hate the soft corner play - Smithville took advantage of it tonight; much of the schedule has just been to weak to exploit it.

The big killer was the lack of discipline. Dumb penalties all night long, including back2back personal fouls in the last 2 minutes. A questionable roughing call, and then giving smithville another 15 by yapping about the first penalty.

I’ll eat crow on this one. Kearney flat out got out coached and outplayed. Kearney’s offense is WAY too predictable. And that defense looked vulnerable.

Defense looked great IMO. Smithville time of possession was 10 minutes greater than KMO. Still aggressive in last possession--the 30 yard combo penalty killed.

Last Smithville possession:

15 years for roughing the passer (look at play - that was a patent Tyler Hasbrough flop).

15 yards for yapping? I thought it was for a late hit when the Smithville receiver lost footing and was on a knee - two defenders hit late. Either way, I agree with the discipline lacking.

The 30 yard penalty was definitely a killer! It was 15 yards for roughing the passer and the ball was tipped! Then after #6 caught the ball and was about to get hit he literally takes a knee in the middle of the field and when he got hit before the whistle the refs called a dead ball late hit. I guess it is a late hit but have NEVER seen a WR take a knee in the middle of the field on a tunnel screen to avoid being hit!
It should be a good game in two weeks!

Uh, he lost his footing, touched his knee down, and stayed on a knee. It's not the same as running to the sideline, slowing down, avoid stepping out, inviting a late hit.
