After yet another severe weather event Friday in the KC metro I got time to catch part of this one today that just finished. First half K was using (barely missed a couple of big plays I am sure they will execute under different circumstances) the Pritzel-Davis combo and it was open virtually every play. Second half Jones and co. went to a very, very smart run up the gut offensive approach that definitely, given it is very hot and humid today, had an effect on Ray South BUT give them credit the Cards did not give up right to the end just didn't have the horses to move within any real range of winning and K knew it.

Overall impressions were Kearney has yet another good, fast D (the backfield was tested will get to that in a bit) that most teams won't run on at all. Ray South has a stable of very impressive skill position talent (speed to burn with size to boot at WR) and will be a dangerous team on a given day BUT they do not have much depth and the D was run and passed on basically at will.

Unless something weird like last night happens again I likely won't attend another game until Staley at Kearney Week 8 (may try to sneak out to Jewell Week 5 for the Liberty North game) and am ready to go to the pool!
