Smithville seems like they should be higher. After the top 2 i think it's a wide open crapshoot. Gonna be a fun season.

Bi-state chat (Homey covered the biggest one): Pius playing St. James Academy again. Will they hang in this time? I think Simone and the Warriors (LOVE the stadium renovations, by the way) will have another massive year just not sure about this one.

Virtual as it was how impressive is Coach Ambroson (prepskc preseason interview)? On that note ALL KC metro fans should go to that site and listen to all those interviews.

Smithville has an outstanding coaching staff and great program. However, they just had an extraordinary group graduate. It isn't just the fact they were so talented, it is the fact they were multi-year starters as well. I still have Smithville as a relatively highly ranked team. But I hesitate to rank them higher given what they have move on. They have to build an entirely new O line. They have to work in new WRs:

Cody Simoncic (All State Bobby Bell award winner signed with NW Missouri St.) 3 yr starter
Gabe Talley (All-State 2 year starter)
Hayden Sigg (All-District RB)
Sam Calvert (3 year starter, All State TE )
Rhett Foster (Committed to South Dakota State University) Multi-year starter. All-State WR.
Noah Riecker (DB All-District) Multi-year starter
Mason Crim (DL All State. Committed to Truman State) 3 year starter.
Keitin Nitsche (All State WR)
Nicholas Vaccaro (All State OL)
Tristan Wald (All District OL
Jacob Lackenburger (All District OL)

I apologize for not having comprehensive knowledge of all the players' commitments on here. This list is outstanding and it is a fantastic credit to the coaching staff, the school, and the players that they achieved such tremendous success.

Last year LSN went to BV North and won in OT. Very hard to read this one at this early point......

LSN should not lose anything based on all the talent they recruit. They are recruiting top level private school kids from Kansas now. I think I saw two from Aquinas and 1 from Miege in that article last week. Johnson County families now moving to Lees Summit. LOL.
Curious your guys opinion on the coaching in that LSN vs. LN game

Jones North is a goner but boy did he leave the cupboard full! I like the Eagles by 7-10 in this one. Friday we should learn whether the two would/could rematch in the semis or title game OR God forbid they district them together.

I always tend to give HS coaches the benefit of the doubt and don't know enough to comment on the new LN coach but as outsider looking in I've felt like in recent seasons LSN has underacheived based on the amount of talent they have.

They actually played LN extremely hard last year plus had CBC beat but let it get away late. It seems they kinda play to the level of their competition.

I’m sure they have five new Offensive lineman that can squat 500 lbs. The trick is to get the skills players that can do that. (Chortle)

They have that too! Not very big though. But then again a 190 pound guy squatting 500 isn’t a big deal. Or a 165 pound QB squatting 485 isn’t impressive. Or a 6-3 163 pound WR squatting 405 for 8. Not a big deal. Have posted multiple videos. Nice and parallel. I guess that is a good trick.

Then there is a guy that reps 500s and breaks people’s ribs. Did you like that trick?
