I just heard that Tipton is leaving the Kaysinger conference. I think they are joining a new conference being formed.

Do you have any idea who the other teams are for this conference? I wonder if any of the other football teams in Kaysinger are considering leaving as well?

Linn, Russellville, South Callaway, Harrisburg, Fayette, New Bloomfield and Eugene.

I believe South Callaway and Tipton used to be in a conference together years ago and kinda a rivalry.

Tipton and South Callaway were in the Mid-Missouri Conference together. Ironically Tipton leaving for the Kaysinger and Harrisburg not starting football was the downfall of it.

I think this is a solid move by Tipton. Kaysinger has way too much dead weight and is bloated. It's just a hodge podge with no clear direction.

I agree. This seems a better overall fit for Tipton. Wonder what the other football schools will do? I know they are currently in a conference with Adrian, Lone Jack, Wellington, Midway and Crest Ridge for football, but that conference seems to have some teams possibly going 8 man in the near future?

Th conference is: Cole Camp, Sacred Heart, Lincoln, Northwest, Stover, Green Ridge, LaMonte, Otterville, Windsor, & Smithton. I don't see the other football teams joining Tipton. They are currently playing in a football conference with: Crest Ridge, Wellington, Lone Jack, Adrian, Midway, Cole Camp, Lincoln, & Tipton. I have heard the Wellington is going to 8-man next year. Don't know of anyone else. What you have to remember is that the Kaysinger is not just about football. There are other sports that need to be considered. The Kaysinger is probably bloated a little with some of the teams having to co-op with other schools to field a team in some sports. That new conference is a good fit for Tipton, but a little far for the three remaining football teams in the conference to travel to when you consider the other sports. Windsor, CC, or Lincoln to any of those other schools for a Tuesday night basketball game is a haul.

Tipton's school board meeting is online. Had some interesting things to say. Their biggest problems were the Kaysinger has too many really small schools which causes competition problems and they are about to add another - Kingsville. Football would have a lesser travel schedule.

Also the new league is done at 8. Tipton was the last school in. I figured North Callaway might get a look.

South Callaway pushed for North Callaway pretty hard but North felt the conference was to small as they would be the biggest school. I heard North reached out to Montgomery Co. but MC wouldn’t even consider it.

I think this is good move by Tipton, as the enrollment numbers of member schools will be more comparable.

Is football coming soon to New Bloomfield and Eugene? Is the new conference going to make them get it? Tipton joining makes geographic and athletic sense. But they will be the best girls basketball team by far for the next few years.

Well to be fair they would probably be the best team in the CMAC, Tri-County and NCMC as well lol.

I hope they don’t let Kingsville in. Don’t need them.
