Duck and Swing, The Missouri Tigers are in the SEC. Duck and Swing, you guys should be making comments on SEC coach like William Wade from LSU. He was caught on tape admitting to paying players and William Wade is no Bill Self.
Duck and Swing, you guys should get over Bill Self and the successful Kansas Jayhawks. Can anyone remember when Allen field house did not have a sellout? Duck and Swing, can you remember the year or decade when the Missouri Tigers had one sellout?
Bill Self has been a great basketball coach for 15 plus years and been in the NCAA tournament for most or all of those years. Bill Self got caught but most likely will not pay penalties because of the success of his program. Can you think of any other basketball or football universities who have been caught and had very little success and is paying for their misdeeds?
Duck and Swing, would you guys be on board with hiring the successful Bill Self as the basketball coach @ Missouri if and when Cuons Martin leaves Missouri? Just think of all those sellouts and all those NCAA tournament births @ Missouri!

I can see your love of Bill Self and Kansas is a special thing. I won't speak for Duck Walk but for myself I have no such love of Self and Kansas. You can call it envy, jealousy, you can call it what ever you want. I don't care how many games they win, how many conference championships they win, I don't care how many national titles they win......I hate Kansas. Self won't pay any penalties because he has a successful program? What could be wrong with that statement? Did I mention I hate Kansas. Just to be fair, the Tigers play West Virginia Saturday, I don't care for them either.
Duck-Swing--You guys can call it what you want however they win, advance in the NCAA Tournament and every game @ Allen Field house is a sell out. I can't believe anyone could hate Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks if he is judged on 1. Winning 2. Advancing in NCAA play 3. selling out Allen Field house.
The above three things are what get basketball coaches fired if they fail in the above three things.

To address the money issue;
I foolishly thought when the feds got involved in the AAU scandal with basketball coaches/agents/shoe companies brokering deals with colleges for players that finally something was going to get done to cleaned up college sports. It seems all schools in DI football and basketball are dirty to some degree, and the powerhouses are better at cheating than the competition.
No one wants to see the money train derail. NCAA and colleges will continue to have a blind eye unless forced by the feds - racketeering and tax evasion if nothing else. Schools would have to get serious about stopping the flow of booster money,and expel any athlete who takes money. Schools know - word spreads among kids. Ask any college athlete whom you know well, and off the record they will have first hand knowledge of someone getting booster money.
The NBA and NFL have a free farm system, although the NBA is promoting their developmental leagues. The "one and done" is insane - does anybody really think these kids even go to class the second semester? What happened to the rules about graduation rates?
I once read that the "March Madness" TV contract alone could pay every DI, DII, and DIII athlete $100 per week while their sport is in season, and still have money left. As a former college athlete (low level), I can tell you it really sucks to not always have enough to eat or have $20 in your pocket to out on the weekends. I can certainly see how a teenager could be real tempted to take some money under the table.

Why are you taking it so personally because we don’t worship Bill Self? Being rude to me and especially my wife is pretty unbecoming. I certainly didn’t question your background even though I know I was watching college basketball when you were still nursing at the teet.
Duck, Goose, Wife, who are you favorite Swinging Basketball coaches and why? Do not say Cuons as it is almost time for Gunsmoke to begin and I do not have time to bring up Will Wade again as well as Cuons brother Frank at South Carolina. Then nap, beans for supper, and because Kansas is not on television this evening, you will find me sitting in the parking lot at the postponed Union vs Hillsboro game to protest weak cancellations of high school sporting events. I have knowledge you cannot deal with and say things no one can understand.

I have seen Hillsboro play this year. Not as good as last years team. I had beans for lunch. I’m a Bonanza guy. Loved John Wooden, Norm Stewart, Larry Brown, Billy Tubbs, and many more. Currently, I prefer Mark Few and Tom Izzo. Bill Self is still a whine bag. I have heard metro dude, not dud’s delivery of “knowledge” first hand and am not impressed.

I'm 66 and I can tell you for sure he is older than me, I just don't know how much. I'm think he was coaching when I was still in HS. I graduated in '71.

Metro is old fer sure, but several MoSports regulars are older...... Including me 75 and Bone to name a couple ole farts that enjoy lotza round ball... Mostly area high school.
Attended many Miz-Zou games in years past but would much rather watch Columbia College nowadaze... C =|~
