Getting screwed or not?
There are some AWFUL qbs playing in the NFL right now.

He certainly isn't alone. Are all of these other guys going to face the same ire? The NFL making an example out of him? Teams would rather look like garbage than work with him? There are drug dealers, woman beaters, and even murderers who haven't been treated this badly.
Shouldn't they be though? (Treated badly)

I take a job. I have an employer. If I keep my nose clean, I expect to keep my job, unless the company is having problems. If I decide to make a political statement (that by the way goes against a century-old show of patriotism), then I'm taking somewhat of a risk. If I truly believe in my stance, then the risk is worth it and I'll deal with the consequences.

I'm sure the guy can still get a job. But perhaps not at the multi-million dollar salary anymore.

He could've stood, and he'd have millions more to use to promote his position. Or maybe he knew the way to do it where he'd have a bigger impact. I hope it was worth it.

Personally, I liked the show of unity in Cleveland yesterday, where the players, cops, soldiers and firefighters stood together with arms locked during the national anthem.

He is not good enough to be a starter in the NFL. Why take a guy as a backup Qb with this much baggage? He would be a huge distraction! Same reason Tebow couldn't find a job as a backup.

It is absurd. They did some polling and asked people why they didnt watch as much nfl as they did in previous years and listed Kaepernicks protest among the answers. It sounded like a cool reason so a lot of people chose it when the reality is they were watching the presidential campaign most of the fall. NFL owners were scared off by the results. He is a legit NFL QB. Tebow is not.

Crying because some dude doesnt stand for a song? Really? And you folks are the ones who complain about all the "political correctness?" Hypocrisy.

He refused big money in Seattle because he wanted a chance to start. The Seahawks wanted him to be a two. Cry Quack all you want, but facts are he thinks he's better than he is. People pay big bucks to see NFL games in stadiums that are adorned with huge American Flags. As a friend recently told me, he's surprised that a veteran hasn't beaten him up for being the poster boy for a nothing sandwich that serves nothing but his selfish interests. His selfishness got him benched in the first place. Dadadeedahdah.

No offense Duck, but on this one, I believe you are like the mainstream media and Trump. "Ha ha ha, he has no chance to win" but he did win. People do NOT want to see players that earn way too much and contribute very little to society use that platform for their political beliefs. NFL TV ratings are down week one 2017 even further than last year.

Earliest reports show that NFL viewership is still down. I believe it will continue to fall as long as these overpaid athletes continue to sit. If they REALLY want to make a difference then why don't the 12 or 20 sitters take part of their average $4,000,000.00 salary & purchase an add to run during the game? I think the NFL should get the sitters to jointly pay for 1/2 and the NFL pay the other 1/2 of a really good ad to run a couple of times per game, then make a rule that no one sits. Otherwise, ratings will continue to drop. IMO

The ratings still dropped because a large numbers of Kaep supporters have been campaigning on social media for an NFL boycott for weeks. Nice try though.

I can't tell if you're fishing or what. But here is my opinion. The NFL has no problem forgoing bad reputations in return for on field performance. The perfect PR nightmare example of this was Mike Vick. He did something way more atrocious than Kaep, yet the Eagles did not blink at a chance to sign him because he still might have that magic in the tank. Teams are not signing Kaep because he is an average to below average QB with issues of running a lot of the offenses in the league. Why sign him over joe schmoe when they are almost on the equal, yet joe schmoe doesn't have the baggage.

His GF didn't do him any favors either.

Moral of the story, if he was good, he would be playing in the NFL right now.

Kap's completion average is 59.8 on passes that put him at 26th last year, he is a system QB.

"If you bring in a quarterback who is the best when he's a dual threat and can do all those type of things, that affects an entire offense," Shanahan said at the time, speaking about former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. "That doesn't just affect one guy. That's a huge commitment to your entire team. So, when you bring in someone like that when you're going to have to tinker the offense to fit one player, you've got to know you're tinkering every single person on that offense, too. So, when it comes to the quarterback and some O-linemen, you look into that a little bit more. After that, I think it's all pretty overrated.

It is what it is. Free enterprise. There is no 'rule' or 'law' that states anyone has to hire anyone else to do anything.

Kaepernick did what he believed was the right thing to do. And, that's great. Every action ("good" or "bad")has consequences...near term and long term. That's life. Kaepernick appears to be experience consequences.

Correct ,Kap at his best was an average QB and would be just an average backup, if he was as talented at his position as say Zek E or Joe Mixon, he would have been signed already.

You can state it however you want & declare you are right. Facts are Kap is NOT in the league and the league's viewership is down. I saw several of my acquaintances stated that they tutned the channel & not watching the Chiefs game because of the DB PETERs.

Kaep is not in the league. And viewership is down. Exactly. Thank you.

People just need to get over it and all the other players sitting for the anthem they're grown men they can do whatever they want. I don't agree with it but they just want attention and by getting all worked up and talking about it non-stop yall that are POd about it are giving them what they want.

The same, of course, should be said for the people griping about the team owners. They can hire whomever they feel is the best fit and no amount of gnashing of teeth is going to change that.

I will give CK this, at least his protest is pretty respectful and only draws attention due to media. That is way better than Marcus Peters riding a stationary bike during the anthem. That is one that would likely piss me off if I were a veteran or had a kid in the military.

This really has absolutely nothing to do with the military. Nothing. People turned it into something it was not. This was about people being pulled over for a busted tail light and ending up dead. Thats all. The fake outrage is pathetic. The herd/mob mentality of social media has turned this country into an over reacting joke.

The only reason this keeps going is the media feels it is necessary to show these clowns sitting. They are part of the problem. "This was about people being pulled over for a busted tail light and ending up dead." BS Does this happen? yeah, probably, but it is far outweighed by people being pulled over for a busted tail light and reacting like a giant D bag instead of merely being respectful and leaving with a ticket, no big deal. That junk was birthed by the BLM movement which was all based on a lie, anyway. The reason this crap keeps going is because the media wants to keep it going and create more division. The owners are concerned with one thing, revenue. As long as Marcus Peters can perform at a higher level then someone else, they are gonna keep him. Protesting the very country that gives you the freedom to protest makes you a tool. A tool being used by the media. You think that media would give a crap about you if you blew out a knee and never took the field again? Yeah, that's right. That's why the only people talking about CK are us. Nobody else cares. If he could make a difference for an NFL team, an owner would sign him.

He wasnt protesting the military. He wasnt protesting the flag. He wasnt protesting religion. He wasnt protesting the free enterprise system. Being so offended because someone sat down or took a knee during a song is the ultimate in political correctness.
