Why certain lefty posters have had a sudden eureka moment on healthcare networks and people being "out of network".

John Oliver, a far left British born comedian did a segment on his show "Last Week Tonight' recently covering Medicare for all. Wouldn't you know it, they listed network issues as one of the reasons M4A was necessary.

1. I don’t have HBO
2. I have brought this up for 5 years because I spend multiple weeks out of state each year as does my brother and we both have this concern that an accident or illness will cost us a boatload of cash unnecessarily.
3. Additionally I have to keep paying for my schools insurance, paying thru the nose for truly crappy insurance because I don’t really have a choice. M4A or a public option would alleviate this problem.
4. Once again, ASSuming is wrong.

I don't have HBO either, just watched all 19 minutes on YouTube.

I've been mad about it for 7 years. I had a surgery 7 years ago. Hospital was in network, doctor was in network, anesthesiologist was in network. I wake up and told, everything went well we sent some tissue down to the lab to test it and you have MRSA. 2 months later I get a bill, because the doctor sent the tissue down to the hospital lab, and guess what it was out of network.
So I was supposed to wake up in the middle of the surgery call my insurance company to find a lab to send my tissue to.
I definitely need to watch John Oliver to know about this problem.

2. If you can't see a problem with it that is truly a shame.

These folks are all about “freedom”. To me freedom is using any doctor, not just ones the ins co tells me to use. Freedom is being able to vacation anywhere in the country without worry. Freedom is being able to switch jobs or retire without worrying if your pre existing condition is covered. Freedom is not having to do a go fund me or have bake sales when your granddaughter gets a rare disease thru no fault of her own. Freedom is when your doctor says you need an MRI and you get one without someone in a cubicle in Connecticut turning it down.

Freedom is getting to decide how much exposure you want, which company to go with or if you want any at all.
 
I did watch but I have had that issue long before John Oliver.
But if you want to bring him up, watch the episodes about televangelists.
Our lady of perpetual exemption, is hilarious, and the second episode of it.

There's a bunch in there. Most of it is a harrowing tale of bullbleep. They can't even run the VA well.
Children with rare diseases don't get turned away. Coverage doesn't equal care. They'll screw it up so bad and ruin healthcare for decades. You're a moron.

What about the people that work in the insurance and health care industry? They will lose their jobs. Why? Oh because some old communist wants to be president.

who cares? Where did the workers who made buggy whips go to work? Those jobs are not necessary and never were. Move on whiner.

both Sanders and Warren have plans for worker retraining, which you would know if you were informed and not just repeating Fox talking points.

I could list a ton reason healthcare for all would fail in a country our size...Even My Liberal GF who works in Healthcare is against it, she could write a thesis on it.

But I will agree with you on this...the Out of Network BS stuff should not happen. The Insurance companies should cover your cost at the same rates no extra cost etc. no matter where you are sick or injured. That is a BS scam for the most part. I would have no issue with more Gov. regulation in that area.

Well what you call freedoms are not actually freedoms at all in a capitalistic republic. They are Benefits and entitlements. that are paid for.

But with that said I think those benefits and entitlements should be available in the Health Insurance Industry. The issue is that the Shill Politicians on Both sides are in League with the Insurance companies, they could set up strict streamlined guidelines if so inclined, not unlike Blue Cross/Blue Shield had before the 1973 boondoggle HMO act. But they don't and Private Insurance companies Cherry pick and Lemon Drop all the time and have Administrative cost that are Mind boggling.

Worker Retraining is BS and just a way to emotionally make everyone feel better. The retraining is Bogus as heck.

But I agree jobs go obsolete all the time that is the way of the world. Why can't you just say I really don't give a Darn if they lose their jobs if it benefits most Americans?
