Convincing wins at Hayti and Mountain View (Liberty) so far. Still have a monster schedule including undefeated Salem and Ava, both on the road. Is this the 'typical' tough Thayer squad, or is there something more?

It’s always hard to tell and they’re always tough to gauge until District time. But I would say that they’re the favorites to win their district this year in my opinion.

Really is a nasty district with Thayer as the early favorite. I would certainly like to think Miller or Pierce City has a chance this year. Both teams return almost everyone from last year and appear better than last?

They're always good. Throw in the impressive wins and they should be ranked at least 2nd in class 1. Nobody in swmo wants anything to do with 'em!

The SCA is a down this year compared to the last couple of years, but more often than not, Thayer fields a tough class 1 team regardless of whether the SCA is down or not.

This week, @ Salem and in week 7, @ Ava, will tell you everything you need to know about Thayer heading into districts.

More than likely the rest of the district is going to have some long trips to Thayer for districts. I see Thayer going 8-1 or 9-0 in the regular season, playing up every week except 2 games. They’re a class 1 with 2 games against Class 1 foes and 2 games against Class 3 foes and 5 games against Class 2 foes if I’m correct which sets them up great for the district point system.

Miller will beat thayer

I saw Thayer on "The Factory" last week, they didn't really pass the eye test, but they must be doing something right.

It looks like that district will come down to Thayer and Miller. In regards to Thayer that Liberty win might not be as impressive as it would've been in years past but that Hayti win, and the fashion in which they won is still very impressive. As is the case in most years I would take Thayer over Miller.

Don’t know if Miller will beat Lockwood little lone P.C. Or Thayer. I will say though their line is really big and block well. 48 carries for 320 yards on the ground against a pretty good Strafford team who already had a few SCA wins. Still way early though. How did Adrian do Friday night?

Pierce City is ranked #2 in the state. They beat Miller handily last year and return almost everyone. Why would you say it comes down to Thayer and MILLER???? You fell for the Veer nonsense.

When I said that I had just peeked at Miller schedule and was impressed by their win over Strafford, Pierce City is a good team for sure, definitely don't wanna forget about them.

Is Thayer still running the Wing T or has their offense evolved?

Miller didn't pass the eye test in my opinion
Was it the Strafford game you saw? I thought they played about as well as they could of in the first half. The Strafford QB is a good athlete. They went a lot of 5 wide to spread Miller out to get him running lanes. The district goes through Thayer until someone beats them. My point on Miller was that they are more physical on the line than I have seen them in quite some time.

Strafford win is the most impressive by any SWC unit. PC at Miller, and then a probable rematch in districts will be some good games.

Maybe it was all the hype about how big and dominant and physical this Miller team is that had my hopes up but I just didn’t see it. Maybe I was expecting too much Or maybe I’m just a jealous hater. We will see as the year goes on I guess

I guess I missed all the hype. Miller is big, even huge by small school standards. They ARE more physical than in recent years but have a LONG way to go in that area. They have the potential to be very good if that physicality shows up. Right now, the best part of their game is kicking. When teams always start at the 20 it is a big advantage.

I heard the hype from the miller coaching staff

PC is short on numbers coming up the next few years. Maybe should co op with Wheaton or Purdy?

Miller and PC seniors have been the talk of the then SRVC and now SWC since they were in JH. I know when in JH talks were about Miller's size and PC's speed. Should be interesting to see that Miller now has the speed it seems to match the size. Still, Thayer will probably be more tested week in, week out.
