i told people that would listen class 2 football has got a tremendous
team up here. Lutheran North had a 52 to 0 against a good clayton team
at half. Only thing they have to beat a tremendous Trinity team who beat
Priory 50 to nothing to get out of districts.

Ok...
52-0 at half.......and I'm seeing 52-0 was the final. What happened?

Looking forward to many more of your ridiculous post throughout the year. Somebody's got to be the village idiot this year. I'm happy that you're really coming into your role.

P.S. make sure to get your order in for crow. Do you prefer it grilled, fried, baked, or perhaps frozen so you can save it for the other 29 times you're wrong this season?

you must be a Lamar fan you guys are good without a doubt
but all streaks come to an end and this year st.Louis finally
has class 2 teams that can beat them.

Like Univ Acc ? you are the one last year that said it would be a blood bath for Kearney. You STL folks just don't get it other than CBC you have no football over there. MSHAA had to put Webb vs Kearney just to get a good game in the Dome.

I have the utmost respect for Lamar, I'm even going to be there to watch them take down Valle later this year, but anyone who knows me knows that I am no Lamar fan. Wow.

Reaching? hahaha

So scoring 52 points in a half is superb, but then to not score again in the next half....well that's not real impressive in my book.

Had someone explained why they didn't I would have understood.....I asked 3x on several threads what the details of the game were and never got an answer so I decided to try this tactic. ;) LoL

Only problem we got is Cassville is not in the same class as Clayton. Lutheran
North also played their J.V. I know it is hard to believe since St. Louis hasn't had
a good class 2 team in a long time but Lutheran North and Trinity are the real
deal. And I understand talk is cheap and Lamar has been the dominant force in
class 2 but this is the year we will finally get a St. Louis team to the championship
game.

Apparently, Clayton is not as good as you say they are or LN would not have beaten them so easily. Maybe Clayton has been good in the past but, are they good now?
There are good teams in Class 1. There are bad teams in the large classes. Just because LN played a Class 5 team and Lamar played a Class 3 team means absolutely nothing. Class 2 Mt. View Liberty just beat, as of now, a top ten Class 4 team. We will not know how big these wins are until we see how these teams play against other opponents. Maybe LN is the real deal. Time will tell. But first things first. Lamar has to get by the teams in their path before they start thinking about LN. And as in the past several years, the best two teams in Class 2 will be playing in the quarterfinals.

Saw Lutheran North at Branson Camp this summer. They are loaded. QB is real deal. Team is big, fast, and athletic as can be.

2010 is a long time ago St. Louis should have a strong class 2 team every
year and hasn't done it. Some good coaches have come into these small
private schools which will draw some good talent.

I am not questioning whether LN has a good team. They have had some good teams in the past. 2 years ago they crushed Clayton and handed JB their only lose of the regular season. However they didn't even smell the dome that year. My understanding is their problems run deeper than talent which they have every year. Things like not thinking about football until the first day of practice which leads to conditioning issues and injury concern as the year drags on. Also as the year goes on they start dealing with discipline issues which leads to time missed my some key players. I believe they have a new coach this year so hopefully he can get some of that corrected and they can become the power house they are capable of being.

P.S. At this point I would put Clayton and Cassville in the same class. However at this point I wouldn't put either in the same class as Cape who was just beat by MV. Either way Class 2 will have some good playoff match ups this year.

Meanwhile, Malden hasn't gone anywhere...

You could put Malden in the conversation as well. In my worthless opinion based on limited data and limited knowledge of rosters, Lamar and MV are the front runners. There are a number of other good teams who could make run and knock either off. I would put Malden, LN, Mt Grove, Higginsville in that category. I am sure I have missed some who are deserving.

Lamar has been the dominant force in
class 2 but this is the year we will finally get a St. Louis team to the championship
game.

According to updated projection calcs, Lamar walks away from St. Louis teams. Results are:

neutral field
[2016] Lamar (MO) 42, [2016] Clayton (St. Louis, MO) 7

neutral field
[2016] Lamar (MO) 41, [2016] Lutheran North (St. Louis, MO) 20

No need to even play the games then, just give them the trophy because Calpreps said so.

I think we are all getting ahead of ourselves. The season is only one week old, and we are talking about a Lamar-Lutheran North championship game. Personally, I am not ready to jump to the finals. I want to enjoy the journey with several conference matchups and rivalry games to be played. A lot of things can happen between now and Thanksgiving. Injuries, upsets, weather, etc.. etc.., can make a favorite in August, a spectator in November. Class 2 is loaded with very good teams this year. Along with Lamar and LN are Liberty, Mt. Grove, Ava, Malden, Caruthersville, Higginsville, Summitt Christian Academy, Fair Grove, Centralia, and several others. So, just relax and enjoy the ride. The season will be over before you know it.

Ryan Perkins the kid Lutheran North got from U. City is incredible. 6'2 225 plays tight end
and dee end in their 3 front. He has an offer from Missouri. I know I have been promoting
Lutheran North but I feel this is the best team they have had in many years and a legit
chance to win State. Many things can happen.

Not trying to take anything away from LN, but you can't use these games as a comparison. Is LN going to be tough this year? Most likely, but to use the point that Cassville is weaker than Clayton, as well as the fact that LN played JV is a little one sided. I find it difficult to tout any team that gets blanked and beat by 50+ as a tough team. Also, it's not like Lamar had the pedal to the floor with first team in all game either. I think first team offense was off the field by 1/2 way through the 2nd qtr. They didn't even take the field in the second half, just JV and freshman. Also, many JV/Freshman were getting cycled in on D starting in the second quarter and on. I'm sure that rotation was similar in the LN game, as well as all the other Week 1 blowouts across the state...

Again, trying to compare early season blowouts is pointless. All that it takes to take a game from 42-0 to 100-0 is how many reps a coach decides to let first team have. Class 2 does look to be a little stronger than years past, so come October it could be very exciting to see how things play out.

At my age time goes by sooooo fast you blink and the season is gone...............agree enjoy this ride while it is here. This week (other than the amazing Suburban Gold conference) is a bit slack in NWMO but next week on it gets pretty amazing.

Is Summit Christian Academy looking to make that big of a run? They were athletic last year and made it a little ways in the playoffs, but I didn't think they were really that impressive. You could tell they were typically more athletic than the teams they play against, so they would just go deep for big plays. When Lamar shut that down they really had no answer for the physical game. I think that game was like 53-7.

If I remember right they had a qb and a very tall wr that were both very talented. Are both of them coming back?

From Calpreps: "-Starting in 2012, we will not project games until October 1st. [We are not too proud to admit that it just doesn't work nearly as well without much data (scores) to go on for the early-season games.]"

Go to the site. They WILL make predictions and thus far, they've been accurate. I used them for a pick em on here.

You can make an individual projection, sure, but the data right now is not nearly predictive as it will be after four or five weeks. After October 1, they have all the weeks' projections laid out on the calendar.
