Judge approves for parent open carry in school

I will agree with that. To think any school district thinks they have the right to take away someones constitutional rights is just nuts!!

Can you explain to me how not allowing someone to carry a weapon into a school effects a well armed militia? Secondly if all people walking into the school are armed, how would you identify a possible school shooter? Thirdly what happens if 20 people openly carry to a football game and someone opens fire? Would those well trained citizens be able to identify and subdue the shooter firing into a crowd of people without causing further injury? My contention is that the average citizen is in no way trained to fire a weapon in a crowd of people and by carrying in public they are further endangering my life, not protecting me.

Supreme court has ruled twice that the second amendment adresses two seperate subjects. The first is the right of the individual states to have a standing militia, the second is the right of the individual citizen to "Keep and Bear Arms" The first has nothing to do with the second.

You dont need to identify a a possible school shooter in that situation, there has never been a mass killing where the shooter walked into a well armed crowd and opened fire. Not once not ever.

If there is a shooter banging away at people in a crowd like at a football stadium, and he is engaged quickly by armed citizens its true a couple of bystanders might catch a stray round, but wouldnt that be better than a guy shooting 82 people like in the theatre in Aurora Colorado????

So you're saying in Aurora it would have been OK if the number had been 84 when a couple of bystanders caught a stray round? Also, you're fine with open carry being allowed by outsiders in your kids' school, meaning anyone can walk into the school with a gun to any event unquestioned?

Shoot out at the OK corral was one of my favorite movies, but I really don't want that to be the norm in our society!

Nothing good comes from the open carry movement that these idiots practice. Only making responsible gun owners look ridiculous. And usually it's some fat video game playing slob that dreams of a Call of Duty type of scenario. I have no problem with a concealed carry being in a kids school. When was the last time a school shooting or any of these shootings resulted from somebody concealing their gun while getting into the school? Plus I have no doubt parents carry while dropping their kids off etc.

If I see a guy carrying an AR down the street. That guy already has a target on his chest cavity.

On that note, a uniformed officer carrying into school, that I have no problem with.

No I am saying it would have been much better off if an armed movie patron managed to put a slug in the guy when he had shot 5-10 people BEFORE he had the chance to shoot 80 friggin people. Even if the armed person hit a couple of innocent people 12 shot would have been a hell of a lot better than over 80, and 12 dead.

There are thousands of people who carry every day in Missouri, in every public place in the state chances are there are people with a concealed handgun. It may have happened but I have NEVER heard of any of those people causing a problem. Those Mcdonalds are full of kids just like our schools are, Why you would think that the same armed citizen would go nuts walking into a school with a gun is beyond me. few years ago a shooter in Pear Mississippi was stopped by the principle after he made it to his car and got his personal gun and got back into the school to stop the guy. Wouldnt it have been safer for the students if the principle had the gun in a shoulder holster so he could have responded post haste to his students getting shot?

The Supreme Court has ruled that schools have much more leeway in restricting freedoms enumerated in the bill of rights.

In my opinion untrained conceal and carriers make me less safe. A couple of classes in no way shape or form prepares them for the chaos that would ensue if a shooting erupted in a McDonald's. They are in no way trained to identify the "bad guy" and "put a slug" in him especially if as you wish this becomes commonplace and several Barney Fife's draw their weapons at once. There are just too many George Zimmermans out there for me to possibly be comfortable with this. As for when was one of these shootings perpetrated by concealed weapons being brought into school, Columbine comes to mind. Also, the principal is your pal.

Columbine? They were shooting before they even got in the building.
