Who else are you going to play? An offense that already has Fowler, Wong, Pena, and Ozuna hitting 12 hoppers all over the field can’t afford to lose one of the guys that can actually hit line drives...Marp, Bader, Pham, JMart, Gyorko, Ozuna, Munoz, Pena...Mercado on red alert when Ozuna’s bloops and 12 hoppers start turning into outs again. When Dejong and Yadi return, maybe there’s room for a Wong or Fowler occasionally. I’m tired of looking up and seeing an OPS south of .650 in the box.

That's my point! You know you're not going to score so you have to avoid giving away runs with a guy who can't catch a cold.

I agree. The strength of the club is its starting pitching. Surround them with great defense. Oquendo has drastically improved Carp and Wong in the field. Gyorko is a plus defender at third. Martinez cant do anything well at first base. All he does is cause pitchers to throw more pitches.

After we land Machado, Martinez will be an ideal pinch hitter.

Who would you rather have? A terrible 1st baseman and a pop gun stick (Jose Martinez) or a terrible left fielder and a booming stick ( J D Martinez) I would take the second and all we had to do is spend some money or at least try.

An nonathletic as he was Patch Adams is a better defender and has 14 bombs. I was campaigning for J.D. but who could have predicted this type of production. Oh wait, this is exactly the way he hit in the second half last year....

Keep hearing that our starting pitching gives us a chance to win every night. I would argue that our offense and bullpen gives us a chance to lose every night!
