I personally dont mind listening to Kelvin Belcher but I can't stand that Bobby Mandis guys.

They both do a pretty good job but make excuses and complain about refs anytime things aren't going well it reminds me of Eddie Lomshack who calls Pitt State games . He's great but it's funny how much he cries when they are getting beat

Not a Pitt State fan but Eddie is an outstanding announcer IMO.

Bobby Landis is a freaking joke. His morning radio show is even more than a joke than he is. I wonder if he practiced his radio skills while he was in #FederalPrison

About as unbiased as American news media, eh?

I think I recall either listening to a Joplin/west Plains game a few years back either that or it was a webcast, and it may not have been the same guys that you are all talking about but they were definitely homers of the worst kind, anytime the other team scored or Joplin turned it over, there would be some comment about how it should have been a penalty or how the other team pulled one over on the refs. Whoever was announcing what I was watching/listening to was definitely out to discredit the opposing team in any way possible. Haha

Coach Jasper needs a new policy not letting players have microphones during pep rally’s

Props to the coach for doing the right thing

I started broadcasting high school sporting events in 1988, still at it today in northwest and north central MO. There are a lot of comments I could make regarding these posts, but, what's the point. Randy Dean, KCHI Radio, Chillicothe, MO
Feel free to post your name and your place of employment if you want. Then we can all judge you as well :) seems fair to me.

Well when an individual makes the decision to be a high paid sports broadcast celebrity he has to take the bad that comes along with it :)

Is it weird that Westmoreland supports the kid who was yelling that?

I'd like to thank the very good and enjoyable broadcasters of SWMO---Monett, Neosho, Carl Junction, and Nevada. They respect, compliment, and have knowledge of their opponent and they put it on the air. Monett and Neosho are professional. Nevada is very respectful. I find the Carl Junction announcers amusing, but it's not at any teams/players expense. Thank you to those Broadcast teams.

Monett has two stations that cover them and both are very professional Mike McClure is a hall of fame broadcaster and does a lot of College games also.

cAssville is not bad to listen to either.

I tried listening to a Carl Junction broadcast one time two? three years ago?... I don't remember it being blatantly disrespectful but it did sound like two 12 year old boys had gotten ahold of a microphone.
I get that this can be a fairly thankless job and not many have the skillset needed to make it great. Keep on - keepin' on.

I encourage the fine folks on the west side of the state to listen to a St. Louis Cardinals broadcast on KMOX. You haven't heard bad commentating until you've listened to Mike Shannon in the 8th inning of a double header; it's like the show Brockmire, but without the funny parts.
