Joplin vs CBC game moved to 3pm on Saturday does anyone know why?

Speaking of MSHSAA and money — I was in South Dakota last weekend to visit a relative. We ate at a sports bar at around 2-3pm Friday. On several tv’s we’re watching a 9-man State championship football game. All weekend long I saw live State championship games (9-man and 11-man) on tv ... FREE OF CHARGE!

There was a nice stretch somewhere between the late 90's and 2014 (give or take a few years on the front and back end) when FSMW televised all C1 - C4/C5/C6 games during Thanksgiving weekend. C2/C4/C6 on day and C1/C3/C5 the next - or vice versa.

Unfortunately, the old saying was true in this case - "All good things come to an end.".

I remember those days, as well. That’s why I posted. Shame on MSHSAA!

Yes Locally Suddenlink cable on Fox 1 or something like that, you can find several states high school playoffs and championship games on TV.....but not Missouri?

All of Missouri's high schools administrators need to figure out that MSHSAA actually is supposed to work for them and not vice versa. I blame this on lazy administrators who don't go to meetings and don't vote and really have no clue to what is going on and seem to not care in some sports. In smaller schools it seems an AD will only care what MSHSAA is doing in their sport versus all.

I just figured the cost for FSMW to produce the programming and games was too much, so simple economics dictated they stop showing the games.

South Dakota can do that because they are a much larger state with bigger population centers, more resources, more large schools...wait none of that is true.

Just flew thru Iowa airspace today and caught part of the Iowa high school football championships at the UNI Dome. Do most schools north of us finish this early?
It seems that way. Fewer schools in each class. For example, in South Dakota there are only 9 schools in the entire state that play 11-man in Class AA. So all but one school in this class make playoffs. They played their state championship games when here in MO we were playing our district finals.
