Ozark Conference Classes and Districts
Joplin - Class 6 District 4
Kickapoo - Class 6 District 4

Glendale - Class 5 District 4
Lebanon - Class 5 District 4
Waynesville - Class 5 District 4
Parkview - Class 5 District 5

Camdenton - Class 4 District 5
West Plains - Class 4 District 5

I would think Camdenton will control the clock by running the ball limiting Joplin's possessions. Joplin wins if the score gets above 35.

I don't really follow either of these teams enough to really had a good handle on each's strenghts and weaknesses and what might transpire. I believe Camdenton is generally a good team and has at least in the past been a very good team at times. I recall them being a thorn to Webb City back in the 90s I think. Joplin is on a roll but it's hard to pick them over a name like Camdenton. Then again I would not have picked Joplin over WP and some other teams they have beat either.

Either way, it sounds like it's shaping up to be an exciting game over there and I'm sure there will be a great crowd. Perhaps one of the biggest games at Junge in quite some time. I'd like to see the Eagles win this and bring a strong and enthusiastic program into the COC next year. Will make the football schedule all the more enjoyable to have these 4 teams within 15 minutes of each other that are all good competition and crowds.

Joplin has a couple of really nice running backs. What may have surprised me more this past week was their shutout against Lebanon.

They won't shut out the Lakers but Camdenton may not get 30+ either. I expect Joplin to get 3 to 5 TDs so as stated earlier in this thread this one should be close - a one score win for somebody. Personally I think that is the Eagles from Joplin.

I can't say I'd be that surprised by either team winning but if I had to pick right now I would go with Joplin.

Lakeshow ground game does enough to gain 3-6 yds at a time. Chunks away at the Joplin D and wins a slugfest. Gimmie the Lakers 21-14.

The Lakers defense has allowed 21 ppg on average this season.

They beat Waynesville 28-7 and only led 14-7 at half last week.

Rolla put 42 points on them two weeks ago in a 45-42 Camdenton win.

The week before that, Parkview put 34 on them in a 70-34 Camdenton win.

Camdenton will have to play their best game defensively to beat Joplin.

Point being, Joplin may very well be the best offense that Camdenton will face in the regular season this year, and they've had trouble on defense all year.

I'll take the Eagles 45-35.

Parkview was scoreless at half, iirc. Rolla was down 38-14 going into the 4th. I'm not saying the points they scored late are meaningless (obviously not given what happened with WP game), but perspective isn't lost on me in this regard.

FWIW...Waynesville had score no less than 26 in any other game this season.

In that same regard, Waynesvilles defense was allowing an average of 45 points per game headed into last week, and Camdenton only scored 28.

And here I thought we were talking about the Lakers defense. But their offense is averaging nearly 38/game.

Serious question...If you were to look at the Joplin results thus far...What's the one anomaly, in your opinion?

If there was an anomaly, I would have to say it is how balanced Joplin is offensively.

Their offense averages 235 rushing yds per game and 205 passing yds per game.
A team has to spend just as much time preparing for the passing game as they do the running game when playing Joplin.
Joplin's defense may be inconsistent, but they come up with a stop or a turnover when it matters.

If there was an anomaly, I would have to say it is how balanced Joplin is offensively.
Anomaly--something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.

Ummmmm....Is that really an anomaly from their scores so far?

I was referring to the fact that for this season, they are very balanced offensively. And it is an anomaly compared to the rest of the conference. The rest of the OC is either very run heavy or very pass heavy. Or they're very good at one and just mediocre at the other, whereas Joplin is more than adequate at both.

That compared with the other teams in the conference this year would be an anomaly.

I think it we may have more points scored than 35 this friday but we will see. True Joplin is very balanced on off. so far and the def. has found was to keep teams contained just enough. I really like watching this Joplin team. They're young in some areas but seem to play as a unit pretty well. Im sure Camdenton is a good team the lakers know how to win. Most years they seem to want to run first but ive seen cam. teams that can throw well. Im a homer and like this Eagle team a lot. I'll take Joplin 34-28

Camdenton!

I don't want the Eagles winning the OC on their way out of the conference.

Oh, Glendale 54 - Joplin 25!

Joplin was so green when they played Glendale in week one. Im not 100% but id take the Eagles in a rematch with the Falcons. Id love to see Glen. make some noise in the playoffs. Do they have a shot?

So...If you looked at Joplin's results. Like the actual game scores. Which one is the anomaly to you? What you answered really has nothing to do with what I asked.

um...district title is possible, but I don't see them going very far after that.
