Joplin {36} Willard {13} Final!

I wouldn’t despair yet. Teams look sloppy often week 1.
Joplin skill players are top notch! Very fast and physical. Those guys alone will win them some games
They play both ways and touch the ball on about 99% of the plays it seems! They both took a pounding yesterday, we’ll see how they hold up physically
I'm gonna take a more positive angle. First Willard is a nice football team good athletes and they really play hard, I like em and hope they have a great year. Joplin looked good not like we did the last 5\6 games of last year but that is expected the first few games. The eagles had 2 backs over 100 yards rushing. Westmoreland did a little of everything off. def.to sp teams. Their defense looked pretty good at times no doubt their small but they team tackled well which is a good sign. I wish we played Webb and Carthage later in the season and not back to back.
In all I think they can stand toe to toe with webb city. Joplin can not turn the ball over like last year and they have got to finish drives with points, last night they left 10 to 14 points on the field. The defensive players have to do their jobs against the veer. Its hard because you just don't see it much plus it makes you play physical. With all that said I like Joplin's chances.
