I'd rather see Joplin struggle right now against Branson and work out the kinks then have to deal with struggles against somebody else later in the season.

Based on what I’ve seen tonight Joplin probably won’t have trouble with anyone in the coc. Webb City will improve and may be tough. But otherwise Nixa was underwhelming. Carthage was close to what I was expecting, they show promise but the youth annd inexperience was very evident. Republic ran the ball very well but otherwise wasn’t super impressive for a senior heavy squad.

Joplin O-line needs work. Gooch needs to work on his footwork. But other than that, looked pretty solid.

Joplin D-line looked like they matched Branson's O-line in size. I will say this, Branson looked much more improved this year. Their QB must have gained 20 lbs in the weight room. The first Branson drive looked perfect. After that not so good.
