Joplin 21 Webb 38 Final . Monkey off the back

WC about to go up 21-7 in red zone and QB throws an INT. Turned around the momentum just like that.

#3 gets a 30 yd TD run . He's had a 99 yard kick off return . A TD reception and a TD run . This soph is really good

Webb City looks tough. Joplin looked good at times but wow, they need some consistency. That #3 for WC is an amazing player. Great game.

Webbs defense has been solid all year . They give up some big plays that's been their only problem. I can only think of a few drives this year that were just a team constantly driving the ball . Nixa homeruned them twice and didn't do much otherwise . CJ well this kinda makes my comment moot bc they had several good drives . Republic had one long drive . Joplin had zero

Webb played a solid game. Joplin is pretty decent . Nixa is better and republic is similar.

It was nice to see Webb’s D step up in the last part of the game when Joplin had 4 chances from 3 yards out and couldn’t score. They’ll keep getting better

So at this point I think nixa cruises to the coc title but only because they played Webb city the first week.

Webb won't have another tough game until the state quarterfinals.

CJ doubled WC up on ToP. From that standpoint, running the ball 3 to 5 yards a pop, the bulldog offense looked more typical WC than WC did.

Eagles missed the deep pass play over the middle by 6 inches that would have pulled them back to within 3 in the 4th quarter. Final score does not reflect how good this game actually was. Good atmosphere, well attended, nice weather, fun stuff. God Blessed America with Friday Night Football.

The Eagles have big play capability but without the star RB they just couldn't get anything going on the ground. Great WC D-line! Pretty much dominated the Eagles O-line all night. The Eagles also lost the special teams battle as well. Pretty much all facets of the game. Joplin needs to fix alot of things before they play next week if they want to hang with Nixa. Joplin came out of this game with more injuries. Mainly on the defensive side. I also heard from a couple of people that Renfro probably won't play another game this season.

I watched the game on KSN. Injuries were a wash out, since both teams were without their star RBs. Joplin had Gooch and their stud OL guy back from injury, so no excuses from Joplin as far as their offense goes. WC has a really good O-line and No. 3 Johnson was by far the best athlete on the field last night but to me the star of WC was that D-line - the starting 4 are quick, fast and have unstoppable motors, even if 3 of the 4 look undersized (5-11, 190 average for 3 of them). WC's #76 (Liberatore) in particular was giving Joplin OL fits all night - just a wrecking ball.

I came out of this most impressed with WC's D-line.

Webb could be pretty Peppery by week 11

Did anyone at the game see Joplin wave and spike their flag into the field during player intros? Not real sure why you give extra motivation to Webb City. Not a real smart move before any game starts!

They did something of that nature at Carthage last year near their sideline, I didn’t find it offensive, i assume it’s just their pre game thing they like to do to get ready for battle.

They did this near the sideline at Webb Friday night as well. I've only seen them do this at rival matches, they did it at Nixa last year. All those games have resulted in a loss.

I guess if it were my field, I'd prefer it not be perforated by flag poles.

I didn’t think it was a big deal. Just wondering why you would give your opponent any extra motivation at Gametime.

The pole is padded wirh a rubber heal. Cleats would do more damage than that pole would.

And I'm sure it's more a symbolic plunge, since it would be pretty difficult to actually get through all that rubber fill (acting, as it does, as somewhat like a non-Newtonian fluid in this instance).
