2 years of decent Joplin football = a fluke.

First dominant first half of the season for Carthage. Gall is also the best 2 wayer in the COC.

So far Joplin has showed zero ability to stop Carthage. Joplin's offense is very talented but I cant decide if the fast no huddle is hurting or helping them. They gain a lot of big chunk plays but also a lot of penalties that I dont think would happen if they slowed down a bit.

We shall see how the teams adjust.

Tale of two halves to start the 3rd. Joplin roars to life and completes and impressive 85yd drive then returns a punt for a td after a total defensive meltdown by carthage on special teams. So far Carthage with negative yards after half.

Aside from a horrendous start to the second half, Carthage played a solid game. Joplin's offense was very fast and versatile as advertised. At times it seemed the only thing that could stop them was a penalty, which they had lots. They are a very talented team. I can see how they beat webb but I can also see how they've lost to several others.

Seemed like every Joplin posession had about 4 or 5 plays with defense getting quick pressure and busting the play, but no one able to actually tackle the carrier and it turns into a 26yd run or pass.
