So things have been slow moving so far with Liberty North.

Well, slow lackluster start in Kearney too.

2004: 5-5 (Thomas) 2005: 6-4 (Jones) 2006: 6-4 (Jones) *Amended per the correction police. Information provided by Maxpreps,

Then: 10-2, 13-1, 13-2 (State Champions) and 11-1.

I'm sure Fisted-oh will have something to say...

Jones was not the Kearney HC in 2004-05. That was Mark Thomas.

Maxpreps has him there for 2004. Okay Was Thomas 5-5 then? Does that change anything? The point is, the first several seasons were not stellar.

2008 G. Jones 13-1-0
2007 G. Jones 10-2-0
2006 G. Jones 6-4-0
2005
6-4-0
2004 G. Jones 5-5-0

So 6-4, 6-4, then a run of seasons. Ah, good point. The winning starts next year then.

I can say, on good authority, that for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, Greg Jones was the head coach at Odessa. 7-3 in his first season, 10-1 in his second. Odessa was his first head coaching job in MO, since he returned from a disastrous coaching stint in AR. I could be wrong on that part, just what I have been told.

That is partially correct. Jones was HC at Park Hill and Park Hill South in the late 90s/early 2000s prior to going to Ft. Smith Northside for a whole one season. He was an assistant under Tom Kruse at Ray-Pec prior to taking the HC job in Odessa.

Tom Kruse - AKA FistOH

I saw K host St. Joe Central in the second half of 2006 you could tell things were already changing for the better. When numbers increased sharply in 2007 good things were on the way................that season is actually the one that brought me to post on MOSports because I knew the KDogs were on their way.

Jones was the DC at PH and opened PHS. I don't believe he was ever HC at PH?

Which is why I said his first head coaching job since returning from AR. I thought he was in AR longer than one season. Sounds like it didnt go well though

Trying to remember that far back you may be correct. I will look into that, thanks. Opening PH South HC is correct (1998).

Really? This post is an example of your sarcasm coming back to bite you.

I think you need to leave the talk of winning and domination to coaches like Jones and Gray, not message board heroes, Webb slayer. Maybe consider unplugging that laptop for the rest of the season. Bahahahahahahahah

Fist-Oh is an erudite student of the game. A hidden genius, and we are lucky to have him here. Now THAT is sarcasm.

First season or two is basically reprogramming
For a program like Liberty North that is probably true but moving up to C6 did them no favors. You don't just walk into that class and think you are going to overthrow the empire (Blue Springs, Rock in particular). Here I thought 2018 would be the year we would find out how the Jones staff would do (LN, KTown and Raytown) but looks really like year THREE will be the telling one for all.............

I don't envy any of the C6 schools in the KC metro. Truly a matter of who survives week after physical week.

That is true, even the "bad" 3-7 or 4-6 teams in Class 6 are pretty good and physical. Week after week, its a war of attrition the top teams in Class 4 don't have to deal with.

It's ridiculous how good C6 is up here in the KC area. Rock, LSW, LSN, BS, LS, Liberty, LN, PH...just nuts. Lot of good football up here in 2018.
