Seems to be a lot of boys basketball jobs opening up around the state. According to the DOE website. Looks like it could be a very high number of jobs opening up for the 2016-2017 school year. Any answers on such the high number already.

Kids are getting softer and don't want to work as hard anymore, but the same Winning results are still expected. An entitlement generation, not all, but a majority are in the category.

Saw where Mexico and Logan-Rogersville are open. Where did Coach Buescher and Coach Gorman go?

Damn kids...if they just better understood how things used to be before they were born...

Gorman is retiring. I know coaches dont do it for the money but coaches are asked to do more and most coaches are not getting a pay increase with the more time they put into it.

I didn't blame the kids ever I blame the way they were raised and how society has changed. If you think I'm wrong then that's ok, but if you look at 80s and 90s basketball it was a tougher generation where parents wanted their kids to respect people. There is a lot more what's in it for me attitudes now or look at me actions, IMO.

Social media sure doesn't help on the "look at me stuff"..... Id say its just becoming too different a world for some coaches. As a coach you have to adapt but when it comes down to changing your entire thought process then maybe they figure its just time to try something new. Best of luck to all and Congrats to Coach Gorman on his retirement

Too much parent involvement from a very young age! They coach their own kid so they are the star until they are put in a situation to be pushed and all of a sudden it is the coaches fault! Parents are way too involved anymore for the wrong reasons! How can kids learn respect when they see their parents out in the crowd doing the same thing. TOO MANY LETS ALL GET A RIBBON AWARDS given out these days. Comepete!

I have not heard where he is going or what is going on. Just saw they are open.

Tim Brown to Rog? or is that too obvious? They say you "can't go home again" and I recall what happened with the Branson job two years ago.

St. Joseph Christian hired John Price from Faith Academy in Mobile, Alabama. Price went to 6 Final Fours in 9 years at Faith Academy and in his 16 year coaching career in Alabama and Tennessee, he has 11 Final Four appearances.

Class 5 St. Louis DeSmet is looking for a basketball coach.

Outstanding coaches Ryan Meyers (Troy) and Scott Allen (Lafayette) each stepped down to spend more time with their young families. Two quality asst. coaches at each school could take over.

I know for a fact that SJC does not recruit individuals. With that being said, they do have a goal to make the school a desirable choice and athletics is one way to do that. The problem that SJC has had is that they have lost some of their best players to the 3 public schools in town. They are hoping this keeps the kids that are there in elementary and jr. high to stay for high school.

Parents, not kids, are the problem in most cases, in my not so humble opinion.
