Jerry Kill to retire

That is a shame. The Gophers went a long way under his coaching. Hopefully this is nothing more than what he is already dealing with. And I hope he can help in the process of finding his replacement.

It has been a day to day battle for Coach Kill for a long time. Have to wish him the best.

He feeling up to it I think Webb can find him a part time coaching spot like he has always talked about :)

This is sad...... It is tragic for a man who is so passionate about the game and just genuinely a good person to have the game he loves taken away from him due to declining health. I hope he finds happiness in retirement and can improve his health.

Had a best friend who played for him at NIU. Still talks about just how good of a guy he was. During a lot of the talks, football really isn't even relevant. A lot of talks dealt with everyday life; situations that don't even pertain to football. The sport lost a really good coach and better person today with his retirement. Hope all the best with his health.

My brother would be upset to hear this. He loved Coach Kill. Always heard stories about him growing up.

Hope he can get control of his health and enjoy retirement

Work with a guy who was a offense lineman for him his Jr. and Sr. years at Webb and always talks about him like he walks on water. Told me even after all these years he still has his number and can and does call him anytime and coach always takes his call or calls him back. Coach Kill is on of the good guys out there. I wish him luck in his future.

Couple of days before Jerrys first game as head coach (vs USC at the Colesium in LA ) I sent him an email asking him if he remembered when Carthage was a big game. His five word reply was CARTHAGE IS A BIG GAME. I think he lost that first game by a field goal but they dang near pulled it off
