It was inevitable. After 12 losses in the past 2 seasons (even with Division 1 talent on the roster) it had to be done, as I expected it would be.
The surprise to me is that KMIZ is reporting that Blair Oaks head coach Terry Walker will be offered the job this week! That's pretty quick, even for high school.

Walker is a former Jay. If he does get the job I'm sure he will do a good job. However, it does seem a little quick. With the pending split in the school district it might be better to see who else might be interested in the job.

Walker will run to take this position. Blair Oaks community is not in love with him.
I understand he wanted the Head Baseball job and they would not give it to him.
Plus they could give the head coaching job to the janitorial staff and win the conference title 9 out of 10 years.

Would love to see Ted come home to Helias. It would be a great fit.

Not sure he would run to take the position. He has all his skill people back next year.

Glad you could once again check in with your worthless insight. Other than 2 non conference games one being traditional power Oak Gove they can only play the teams on the schedule due to conference affiliation. That being said Osage, Southern Boone and Eldon are all very good programs. The mustangs even made the state quarterfinals this year. Go ahead though and keep being jealous of Blair Oaks long run of success and the Crusaders recent struggles.
By the way I wouldn’t be so certain that Terry is leaving.

I would agree that Walker is not a done deal. Success at Blair Oaks does not mean automatic success at JC, as recent history has shown. Class 6 is very different from Class 3. Notice I did not say better, just different. Difficulty with scheduling, more travel, things like that.

If Walker bolts for JC, what are the chances that LePage or Drehle return to BO?

Some of my best friends work in the janitorial business so the above remark about a janitorial staff coaching a football program and win its conference is one of two things: is intended to be disparaging to the janitorial staff, as it makes it sound that they are not intelligent enough to do so, or, just disparaging to the individual who made the remark because he doesn't know how to put his thoughts into words more appropriately. Too bad.

As MOST of you know, coaching can only take a team so far. It's all about the Jimmy and Joe's you have on a team. Some schools just don't have the Jimmy and Joe's to get it done.

It was not meant as disparaging in any way. Just a fact that the level of talent at the school is much higher than the extreme low level of schedule. You can attack me personally if you would like but it won't change the facts.
Happy New year and a joyous season of 80 to 6 wins.

Yes, they have a talented roster. I have friends who have kids that play football. The players work their tails off in the weightroom, conditioning & on the practice field to get better.

That would be great in most places, but Blair Oaks wants the State Championships.

Just read.... Lead For God Sake and you will find a lot about the janitors that work in schools.

Jeff City will soon be class 5 with Battle. They lost to them last year and will soon have half the kids to choose from.
