Jeff City Jays

Does not surprise me. I am surprised he is staying on as AD though.
Not surprised he is staying on as AD. Jeff City is about to be the CMAC doormat with Hickman's coaching hire and the apparent rise of Smith-Cotton on the horizon

I had heard rumors he was looking for other coaching jobs this past summer, so was a little surprised he is getting out of coaching. Again those are rumors albeit from people close to the program. But after hearing more midway through the year it shocks me he is staying with the district. I probably would've told them to kick rocks.

Go on.

I think it is pretty well known on here that I don't agree with a lot of the decisions the admin at JCPS make. But heard before the year started he was told he would have to surpass his win total or else they would move on. They wanted to move away from the HC/AD role. I personally think Coach Wells has done a good job at JC. They have been competitive and he provided some stability. I have never met the guy personally so I'm not sure if there were other things going on, but it's just another example of the great admin at JC essentially forcing another guy out. They have fired LePage, ran off Walker and Bailey and now Wells. They just can't get out of their own way.

Doubt Wells was ran out. He made the decision. Only speculation is he is staying on as AD and will most likely be looking for other coaching opportunities, but has the AD job at JC for security if he doesn't find the right job.

Being told you have to surpass your win total or you're gone is an ultimatum to me. I can go into a lot more detail, but I'll just leave it be. The admin at JC is and has been a disaster for years.

I wouldn't say that. Wells is a good coach, obviously so is Bailey. But it wouldn't have changed the talent and players they had, or all of the other circumstances that surround that job. Jeff City probably would have been the same if Bailey was there. He knew this, and knew it was going to take an awful lot more than just his coaching to make them state champions again.
