Have lived out out of state for over 20 years now but grew up in Jefferson City and remember well the 10 state football titles the Jays won from '76 to '97. Where have they been the past 18 years?

All I know is Helias Catholic and Jeff City need to start scheduling one another................

Great point. Never understood why they did not play each other. In the Adkins era, most years the Jays would have dominated so maybe Helias did not want that, but in recent years (i.e. the past 15) I think JC would have all they could handle from the Crusaders so its probably always been that it was just simply not in the best interest of one or the other to play.

I think the game was wanted and pursued the past couple of years, but one of the schools did not want it. Let's say the home team did not want the game even though they had a home field advantage.

The last several years Helias would win more often than not but it would always be a good game and would draw a huge amount of money

The talk is Jeff City is going to split into two high schools. If that happens, I think you would see the 2 JC public schools, Helias and the 3 Columbia schools form a conference.
