Jeff City at Rolla GBB

Yes, for sure! Both teams have similar parts and it will be a pretty even matchup

I'm not sure what Jefferson City graduated besides the the girl that is at Mizzou now, but they won by 40 last year so Rolla seems to have a tall task tonight.

They lost 2 division one players (point guard and post), but you don’t get ranked # 1 for no reason. They still have 3 girls that will go D1 on the team. They gained a 6’3 freshman to go with their height. Rolla turned it over a lot last year and will need to limit turnovers this year to have a shot. It’s Going to be a fun environment tonight:)

Really. Both coaches are pretty solid Coaches. Jeff City coach has won a ton of games and has won at every place he been at. Rolla's new coach has done very well in his young coaching career at Richland and will continue that at Rolla also.

What do you disagree with. Those are facts. Both do a great job. What is your problem with these coaches. Both coaches have won, they get a lot out of their players, and both teams play really hard. I will take that coach any day.

You had the same in Floyd. Conway didn’t win when the talent wasnt completely unbalanced toward his team

Coach Floyd was a great coach. Did a heck of a job. Unfortunately parents ran him out. Conway I know has won at Salem, St. James, and at Jefferson City. Pretty good wherever.

Conway has over 500 wins. Wow that is pretty impressive. Not to many coaches can say that.

check out Jefferson when his talent wasn’t filled with college players

Still 500 wins. Coach K almost got fired at Duke. Got a good recruiting class and the rest is history. Sometimes a coach can’t make chicken salad out of Chicken SH*T. You must be one hell of a coach. Nothing else better to do than rip high school coaches.

Good coaches get the most out of the talent at their disposal. If the talent isn't there, doesn't matter how good of a coach you are, you won't win as much as the teams with the talent. Not a hard concept to grasp.

Now OTOH some coaches have talent and don't win as much as they should. But "talent" in and itself is subjective, and everyone has a different opinion on how much talent a given team or player has.

But in Missouri girls high school basketball. You don't have multiple D1 talent on a team and not win a lot of games, even if Elmer Fudd was your coach.

From what I've heard, Conway had 399/500+ wins at St. James. Don't know how many D1 players go through that program. Maybe 1 or 2? So he's gotta have some coaching skills. Don't know if Jefferson was a powerhouse basketball team, but would doubt it.

Oh definitely. They did have some college players go through there, not sure if any were D1. And I was never doubting his coaching ability. I was just saying , any program who has a few D1's will win a bunch of games

I think 2005 senior Jen Bowen was the last D1 player from St. James but they have had multiple D2 players of late since Coach Wells took over after a Conway was fired

Good players make bad coaches win a lot of games. Good coaches push players to get everything they have out of them. That doesn’t always add up to a lot of wins.
