Jasper 35 ac 0

All I will say is the Joplin media did not cover it at all. The SW Conference, which they would post scores on, is a Springfield area conference. Jasper is a Jasper County school, and a metro area town. Get with it, JoMo! The WEMO is just as much Joplin as KC anymore.

Is a 35-0 win not good enough ? In my opinion we came out slow in the 1st half and had more penalties in this half than we had the last 3 games. We're still down our starting RB who I hope can play next week vs Midway.

We also passed a bunch last night which I'm not a big fan of but ended with TD so guess I cant complain to much. A wins a win.

Jasper sure looks good. My nephew graduated from Lockwood last year. What has been the biggest difference between Jasper last year, and Jasper this year?

We've had a few kids really step up this year out of no where and our OL is opening holes for our backs who are hitting the holes hard this year. We've also had a few kids move into town who have been playing well. The kids seem to really be having fun and helping each other get better. We've also had some kids come out for the team who haven't played that are really doing well.

That’s neat. I wondered about new kids. How deep is class one this year? I know Valle is down. I’ve seen posts about it on the SEMO page.

This would be the year maybe a new team might sneak into the finals but there are some really good teams. Hayti Marceline Westran and a few other really good ones and I'll never count Valle out so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were in the championship.

Hayti will out talent Valle, I've watched both play, IMO Hayti wins big and should take state

Jasper is big, physical and athletic. They flat out play hard and have kids that have developed nicely into good, big athletes. Always a plus for a small school to see a good maturation process for JH kids that were not overly athletic, but are now as juniors and seniors (even sophomores).

I wanna be a homer and say noway Jasper all the way lol but Hayti was my pick for class 1 and I'm sticking with it. I heard their RB is getting D1 offers and I know that means nothing it's just impressive to me being from a 1A School.
All this Jasper love is sweet but, don't you think they should beat someone above .500 before we put them in the contenders stack?

Jasper’s 5 win’s have come against teams that are a combined 4 - 20

Miller’s 4 wins have come against teams with a combined record of 3 - 17

We will find out more about Miller when they play a solid Sarcoxie team this week. That Sarcoxie loss to Houston not looking so bad now as Houston beat Thayer Friday.

We also have our first real big test of the year with Midway this Friday who are also 5-0 we dont have a great history against midway but if we get our starting RB-LB back I'll feel better about it. Our schedule is definitely back heavy with the better WEMO schools. Should be a great game.

I'm aware of Millers schedule. I nor anyone else is mentioning Miller as possible state contenders for THAT reason.
Why then is Jasper? I said the Jasper love was cute.

I would expect you to do nothing less. There is a small difference in cheering and demanding respect that has yet to be earned. If it's earned I will give it.

Do you honestly think anyone in jasper is talking state ? If so I own a bridge in California to sell you

Who has Midway beat at 5-0 that would scream respect me? They should be better than who Jasper has played to date though.
Pierce City is the only local class 1 school who has beat ANYONE meaningful.

Who has pc beaten? 3-2 scratch? Who did scratch beat?
Just trying to follow your logic.

Scratch has played a decent schedule and won the games they should. Their on paper strength of sched looks good as does PC. I'll know more about Scratch Fri. night but on paper they don't look like patsies nor is their sched. patsies to date.

Jasper would be vying for the SWC crown along with PC and Miller. Think this would be a toss up between the 3.

Sarcoxie lost to Pierce City by just a score and lead the next level which would include Greenfield, Lockwood, and Marionville. Bleach downplays Miller's strengths saying they're inexperienced, but they aren't any younger than PC.

Boy, Skinslver26, how dare you cheer your team on, and wish them great things! We can't offend the Miller people apparently.

Let me tell you a little bit about the Miller vicinity; I'm sure several folks are nice there, but still, we had an interesting experience once while hanging out near there. My wife has an ethnicity that is a little more tan than some in that local area. We went to eat together, along with our son, at a local establishment near Miller. I won't mention names, although it seems a popular rural destination. We knew out wait time for food would be awhile there, as it always is. We enjoy the surroundings though, however, we noticed that everyone who came in after us was getting their food before us, and it continued and continued. We finally had to let them know how we felt and walk out. Really, after exchanging pleasantries with the cook and service, I wonder if slightly tan isn't quite accepted there as in some other places. Enjoyed a meal a little while later in Jasper, where it seems ethnicity isn't that big a deal.

Go Eagles! There is a big test this Friday. Win or lose, make it a hard fought affair. The KC area is more friendly and accepting to everyone anyways, so it makes better overall football country.

Well you know how Jasper controls how well their schedule does in their games lol.

Midway is good no matter what someone else says... to be 5-0 you have to be decent you still have to win regardless of how well the other team performs. It'll be our hardest test this season by far and for as long as I can remember midway has had our number I'm hoping to see Adrian when we're both undefeated.

i have not said a word on this page. but this kinda crap i will not allow.. you start spitting out this type of activity gets my blood boil.. i have family and friends in the Jasper area and i don't know you from adam over there but seems to me you hold a very large grudge for Miller and that area.. have in no time in my 40 plus years have i EVER seen this type of behavior or will allow this in the Miller community.... my request to you is to remove your post due to its undocumented slander to this or any community anywhere... including Jasper..

It didn't happen to you, so why are you upset? It happened to us, as we tried to have a family outing. My blood was boiling that day. We don't even normally post anything, which explains why it is "undocumented," although we could have. We probably won't document it any further, as we have given the establishment a second chance. Seeing someone from your community continually hound another community, after you kicked them out of your circle through secret meetings, leads one to think perhaps the suspected lack of decency in the area is legit, however. You got rid of Jasper AGAIN, so why worry so much about them, and taunt them? Like I said, I'm sure most of the people in your area are decent, as I consider that 95% of people in the world are good, while 5% make everyone look bad, or make the world a miserable place for everyone. Sorry, but the incident I describe did happen in your neck of the woods, so why should I delete it. It happened to my family, not yours. Just keep working to make sure it doesn't happen anymore. Also, why does this make Jasper look bad?

I'm guessing SOME Jasper folks have their feelers hurt about not being included.
You can't demand inclusion or respect, both are earned or given charitably.
I haven't said anything about Jasper that I haven't said about Miller.
Neither team has done anything to brag about or cause celebration.

SOME Miller folks are the way they are as well. Of course, I'm sure most communities have them. I've spoken more on this than I care at this point. I could care less about respect and inclusion as well; just make up your mind on who your system wants to be affiliated with and let's start building leagues with history and not changing names every 15 years. It's more of an annoyance factor. If you have now done so, then good.

Of course, when I hear Southwest Conference, I still think of Carthage, Webb City, Neosho, Mac County, and Nevada. Could have been a more original name.

Anyways, this started as a Jasper-AC post, not Miller. Good luck, Eagles on Friday night! This will be a solid WEMO test in WEMO country. Win or lose, you're still in the top tier of a conference this year with history and tradition.

As for who goes far in state for Class One, since the topic did drift in that direction, it will most likely come out of Southeast Mo again. Would love to see it be a public school, but they will have to "write a bigger check" so to speak. Class One seems opposite of the rest of the classes, which are usually western Mo.

Hayti is a public school, you westsiders have plenty of time to come up with excuses when Hayti takes state like uncle Rico!

Not really. Miller is very experienced. The bulk of the team has been starting since Frosh. They haven't ever been very good because they weren't physical. They "appear" to be more physical this year but with their schedule so far, who knows? They sure pass the eye test though. We'll know more after this week. How much we'll know??

Hayti RB Ivory Winters has verbally committed to Indiana. He has 5 D1 offers. 2 Big Ten (Indiana, Purdue) 2 SEC (Arkansas, Kentucky) and D 1 FCS SEMO
