I would have paid 4 years, $75 M for Shields. That's a heck of a price for San Diego.

Was hoping the Cubs would be able to get in on that price

But JS was very much set on going out to the West Coast to pitch. Can't blame him at all. Good luck with that defensive outfield though..... No one is going to confuse them with the Royals

He will look good going AL to NL plus that is a pitchers park.
