Jake Arrieta...

No offense Homey, (get the pun) but the one hop shot that hit the second baseman and bounded away would have been called a hit 999 times out of 1,000. Travesty. Go ahead and cry now.

1 hitter or no hitter, either way his stuff was electric last night. Dude looked like he was throwing a whiffle ball at times. That slider was as devastating in the 9th as it was 1st. One of the more dominating starts I remember seeing in recent years. LA just didn't stand a chance.

Honestly Ducky I posted this in part just to see what your response would be... and it was predictable. If this game had been played at Wrigley then you might have a case but obviously it was not. Also the play in question occurred in the 3rd inning long before anyone was thinking about a no no. Yes the play could have been scored either way but you have to admit, that short hop at Castro was vicious.

The good news is Arietta can pitch the "play in" game versus the Pirates and won't be able to pitch early in the series versus the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals.

As a lazy retiree, I am embarrassed to say how much I have watched baseball this summer. And Arietta was incredible. BUT, there are a lot of lollipops that hit leather and are called hits. For that laser to be called an error truly is ridiculous. But carry on.
