Several, actually. Not only do they still have two open dates but they also have a problem with their defense – it's too good.

Last night they held Cape Central to negative yards rushing, blocked a punt for a touchdown and took away the ball 6 times. This repeatedly gave Jackson short field positions, meaning the offensive yardage stats will look meager. However, the scoring percentages from the red zone are off the charts.

I know what people say, "They haven't played anyone!" I agree, but even so, this year's Jackson defense is a monster!

I think exactly one person has said they haven’t played anyone.

I was plenty impressed with Jackson last year. The title game with Carthage was a classic.

I do wonder if they have a couple open dates if it will prevent them staying sharp.

Only one person did say it recently, but it’s been said often in the past and I agree. Jackson has had little competition, which is why they’ve scheduled teams like Marion, AR a few seasons back and STL teams otherwise.

The title game WAS a classic and Jackson usually has few chances to go up against stiffer competition until post season... which speaks to your last point.

I would love to see a possible game with Fox in a couple of weeks. That might be a preview of a district matchup.

If Jackson plays Luthern North, I have Jackson by at least 2 scores.
Having not seen LN play this year i have no idea, i do know Jackson is good. I know LN is huge and fast. I would love to see it. Other schools have open dates won't schedule them, like big schools. I find it hilarious

I never thought you thought they would. I do think you thought other large schools would dodge them and I think you’d be correct and thought I’d think so, too.

I think.
Here’s what I know. MICDS LS and Westminister are the only teams in their conference to play them. No one else seems to be dying to play them or making an attempt to

For the record, I said they haven’t played anyone.
I have seen them play online this year and watched them play live last year. They are good, it’s not their fault schools around them aren’t great and STL county is not playing

Lutheran North has reached out to play Jackson multiple times in past couple of years. Jackson has declined each time. Lutheran North will play anyone that is for sure.

Very true! Those are the facts. If they don't play it won't be because of Lutheran North not playing . North has routinely scheduled top teams from around the region and country. Win lose, or draw they will play anyone.

Well if Lutheran North does decide to grow a pair and play, Jackson and Lutheran North both have an open week, October 16th (week 8). I can personally promise you that if Lutheran North decides to play, Jackson will try and play them. This is the arguably the best team Jackson has ever had and is a front runner in winning Class 5 this year.

LN was scheduled to play Bishop Miege (Kan.) on 10/16 and BM is apparently now playing, having lost their first game to Aquinas last week. That said, I would love to see LN come into The Pit.

Jackson also has an opening week 6. I do know that they are rumored to trying to schedule either Fox or Eureka for that week. Unfortunately Lutheran North is playing MICDS week 6 which should be a game that'll be played.

Also I know some schools are against traveling out of state right now due to COVID. Maybe that'll happen between Lutheran North and Bishop Miege? (I may be getting my hopes up just for the slim possibility of Lutheran North traveling down to the Pit.) :)

If both are available to play they will, MICDS is one of the few teams that says they will always play LN.

I would travel to see that game, I think your crowd would be impressed by LN and LN would be blown away by the PIT, I am every time I go there

Lutheran North already has a pair. They will seriously play anybody.

I'm not really a Jackson fan, I just have a lot of connections to the football team. But the Pit, in my opinion, is a top place in the state to play a friday night football game
The Pit really is a FANtastic place for football. It has the combined ambiance of the original grandstand built in the 1930s with the expanded seating that wraps around toward the old gym with accommodations for wheelchairs and new restrooms. The visitors side has plenty of unreserved seating for everyone.

Best of all, there's no track around the field so you're sitting closer to the action and you can see over the players on the sidelines. So, when the stadium is packed, as is usually the case, it really gets going. Finally, while The Pit can seem intimidating to opponents, the Jackson fans are exceptionally friendly and accommodating to visitors.

I would sprint down to Jackson to film it and knowing Coach Reed, he would love the challenge. I had the opportunity to cover the Jackson-Eureka quarterfinal game last year and I have nothing but positive things to say about the Pit and my experience.
We welcome everyone and treat you with respect. The fans love to see good football played!
