Bluff's kicker is also a soccer player and was not here for the game and it most likely cost them a W.

Both teams had 7 TDs. Jackson had an extra point attempt botched but converted it for 2 points. Had Bluff's kicker been there they would have scored 49 and still lost.

PB made a couple of 2 pt conversions to make up for not having a kicker but I didn't know how many overall. I was wondering if they don't have a JV kicker or even a freshman that could have made a few with the varsity guys blocking for him. I'd say the lack of a respectable defense was an issue for both teams. That must be a big issue throughout the conference. PB scored over 30 at Cape and over 40 at Farmington too.

Bluff has great offense but, alas, is lacking defense. As you said, a big issue for several SEMO teams. Even so, it was a very exciting game. Too bad someone had to lose.

It was a wild one for sure. The Mules will finally have a stadium on their high school campus next year. They haven't played a game without getting on a bus first in nearly 50 years.

After looking at the stats, it seems the mules might do well to develop a running game as well as a better defense.

I heard the radio guys talking about the new stadium and how proud the AD was about it. Must be really impressive.

I guess it and the other sports venues will be impressive. Right now it's still a bunch of red clay dirt on the grounds around the 5th and 6th grade center which will become the new HS. 4th, 5th and 6th grades will move to the current HS complex with some additions and renovations. Soccer will be played on the same field, I can see that working pretty well. I'm not too crazy about the baseball and softball teams playing on the same field with a turf infield and grass outfield. Not sure how well that will work for softball. I also don't know what kind of shoes the players in either sport will wear when they will have to play on tuff and grass at the same time.

When I was a kid all that was on top of that hill was the Babe Ruth baseball field and they were just starting to build what was then to be the new junior high. That was a long time ago.

Cleats are no big deal for softball and baseball. Plastic ones work well. A lot of fields are made that way in the mid-west. My kids played on at least 10 I can think of this summer in softball, baseball. Very good planning if you do not have the money to do the whole thing. It would of saved me sleep and a very sore back if I did not have to get the infield ready after a rain this past summer. Come on POWERBALL
