IWA asked to play in Class 5 but MSHSAA wouldn't let them. Who would beat them in class 5 anyway? On the boys side it was a different story, Chaminade lost both of their games in COMO this year. There's always the private vs public debate. A 29-2 lopsided score at the half is unusual of course, but not completely shocking given the public school's (CJ) first ever final four appearance vs Incarnate Word's 28th trip. And IWA has been there 8 times in a row.
So, basically a really good team comes along in our school district every, say 100 years, whereas a really good team comes along in IWA's "district" like every, what, 12 months?
A proposal to consider - if you get to the state semifinals four years in a row, you get bumped up a class for the next two years. Because obviously you've built a really good program with that much success, and it's time to test yourself against the next level.
Private schools should compete against their peers. Different set of rules gives a competitive advantage. Wasnt class 3 final 4 a bunch of nonpublic schools?IWA asked to play in Class 5 but MSHSAA wouldn't let them. Who would beat them in class 5 anyway? Girls Final 4 had Lutheran North and they took 3rd place. Appears to me the other 3 teams were public schools, but I don't know anything about them. Were they Charter schools or something?Private schools should compete against their peers. Different set of rules gives a competitive advantage. Wasnt class 3 final 4 a bunch of nonpublic schools?

Biggest class and two public schools. West kids couldn't buy a shot. A lot because of WG played tough defense, then they started playing even to faster than they usually do. WG was impressive, LSW far from it.Ok, like I said I don't know anything about those schools, that name didn't sound lie private school. I just saw the class 5 championship boys score. WOW!
