The very idea that he buys into the urban legend that Ford raised his wages to $5 dollars a day to make them Model T customers is scoffed at by economist, he raised wages because productivity went up. You just have to choose the lesser of two evils...that is on you to decide which side you are most aligned with....or you could just walk away and not engage in the Political system at all. I can see the allure of that no doubt.

Us and them has always been the Norm. We are a tribal species. Technology has popped the Bubble that gave the illusion that a Country as Vast as America has a lot of commonalities. I believe you are a bit optimistic in that regard. I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't appear to be that way as the RED and BLUE divide even more.

Much like the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, The German Democratic Republic, People's Republic of China, etc. No one would have mistaken any of those countries for democracies or republics, yet it is/was in their name, so it must be, right. Were there elements of socialism in the Nazi government? Of course there were, as there is in ours and every single other government. Were they a dictatorship of the proletariat as described by Marx/Engels and, therefore, communism? No, in fact, they were the direct opposite of that with a one-man dictatorship. By that token, one could easily argue that the Soviet Union (and all other "communist" nations) never met that criteria either.
I do agree that there certainly can be leftist fascism/nazism, but you'd have to agree that the vast, vast majority of people praising Nazism or fascism in general are far right-wingers, so you may want to tell them about it being the same as the leftist movements.

We have two BLM flags and several Rainbow flags as well on our Block one is a couple of hippies and another a Lesbian couple. They seem to be doing OK. Only One Trump 2020 sign though.
And BLM and Antifa vote Democrat at that rate as well. I don't see how pointing out the fringe on either side makes a point.
The issue is the Mainstream Democrats wanted to Mandate Masks and Vaxes....And the Mainstream Democrats want to take away Guns. Listen to Biden and he invokes hunting every time he mentions Taking Away Guns or adding undo restrictions. Hunting has nothing to do with bearing ARMS. Bearing Arms is about having the most lethal weapon possible for Self Defense. And the Mainstream Democrats want to regulate information and opinions.

There are as many conspiracy theory nuts on the left as there are righties who are Qanoners, election fraudsters , CRTphobes, great replacement theorists, JFK Jrs, flat earthers, windmill cancerites, microchip vacciners, life long Republican deep staters, Clorox injectors, horse worm pill poppers, pizza parlor pedos, big foot spotters, and the list goes on and on and on.
