Is there any doubt Mizzou's offense is much improved?

That drive in middle of 4th was GREAT. run, run, run, run, run, run tick tock tick tock PICK WHAT. OMG. But they do look MUCH better.
Why on earth did they NOT go for 2 when they scored and kicked the EP to go up 27-21? I thought that was a text book time to go for 2 so a TD+EP can't beat you! I told my wife at the time that kind of stuff will get ya beat. I assumed there would be more scoring but you hafta get that 7 point lead when you can.

28-27 Georgia.

Mizzou played a great game, aside from the interceptions.
Offense is the best I've seen it in 2-3 years, but with the picks, we pretty much gave it away.
Run defense was great the entire game. Pass defense was lack luster, but they stepped it up in the second half there til the very end.
Looks to be a good season for Mizzou, aside from being 1-2 right now.

I know we loss but we are light years better than last year.I thought winning 6 games this year
would be a huge stretch but I really believe they got a chance at 7 no chance against LSU or
Tenn and probably Ark but the other 6 are all possible wins. Even to go 6 and 6 would be huge
after last year. Odom is just what we needed and Heupel is tremendous. Lock made some mistakes
but he is the closest thing we have had to a decent QB since the Texas all star. Chase Daniel

Just asking, didn't MU start last season at 4-1. They put up 24 on SC week 4 or 5 last season with turnovers as well. Georgia has given up over 20 in all three of their games. Hope for you guys they are better but think you may be putting the buggy in front of the horse. Next week definitely should be a win but I expect MU to get housed at LSUand at Florida in the following two weeks. I'm thinking 4 wins with DSU,MTSU and Vandy being the only 3 left.

Offense looked MUCH better the last two games. Jury was still out for me after the directional Michigan game, but UGA was enough to change my mind. Lock made some impressive throws. Receivers have actually caught (and not dropped) passes. O-line performing well. Save one really bad decision from Lock, one silly fumble at the end, and one stupid good throw from Eason on that last TD...and MU gets a win. Regardless, it was a really good game to watch.

I think we have a chance against lsu. They have not been impressive (and I'm going to that game).
I've actually got tickets to that one if I want them. Can't decide if I want to deal with all the travel, but I bet it will be a blast. And a good game too.

USC was probably Mizzou's best offensive performance last season. That game Mizzou had 300 yards of total offense and USC really sucked. Georgia doesn't suck and Mizzou put up 485 yards. Look at the rest of last season. Mizzou was awful on offense. I know you hate Mizzou, but I think almost any objective observer would say the offense is much improved.

As far as the rest of the season, Delaware state, middle tenn, and vandy are wins I feel confident in. I think we should beat South Carolina and Kentucky (Eagles, how hot is Stoops' seat? 42 points to New Mexico State?). I think we have a chance against LSU, Arkansas, and Florida. Tennessee is a pretty for sure loss I think. I think we get 6-8 wins.

What got mizzou beat was the last lock pick and the fumble at the end.
Those things were not done on purpose, not going to 2 was. None of that would have mattered if they had made the 2 point conversion to go up 28-21. At least they would have had a shot in OT. There was NO good reason NOT to try it. A 6 point lead is not really better than a 5 point lead. You NEVER want to leave a 7 point lead on the table when you have a shot at it. If they had scored to take a 2 point lead I'll bet they would have tried for 2 to keep a FG from beating them.

Not disagreeing with you. Statistically, you should go for 2 every time.

They'll finish in the top 25, build another great recruiting class make another run at a National Championship, rinse and repeat.

How does it feel to swim in mediocrity?

IDK man ask when you get to work Monday.

I'd say it'd be scorching if not for a $12M buyout after this season. Can't imagine they'd pay that, unless they were for sure to have a home run hire in their back pocket. And lets face it, it's UK football. So that seems pretty unlikely. Even without the buyout, I'd be fine with him getting another year unless this one just completely bombs. Recruiting has been good the last two offseasons. Lost a lot from both sides of the line from last season, especially on defense. I think most saw this season as a tough one, just not nearly as tough as it has been in the first three games.

Doesn't make sense every time but if it will get you up to a 7 or 14 point lead then you should probably go for it.

9 point win against a pretty weak UNC. 2-pt win over Nicholls State. And a 1-pt win over Mizzou.

Georgia might be a little overrated.....

Sounds like Mizzou found some mojo though.

How is UNC "pretty weak?" I mean, what objective evidence is there?

I'll bet for $12M, they'll ride it out.

As long as you get the 2 half of the time you try it, it does make sense every time. Last I saw, I think, conversion rates were somewhere around 54%. Get good at it and go every time. I'm kinda surprised Chip Kelly isn't already doing this.

I don't know that you can ever have objective evidence but the ORACLE has UNC at 30, Georgia at 50 and Missouri at 55.

Oklahoma at 1-2 is also 7 with #2 SOS in the country, which sounds real good until you realize that 3-0 Houston which beat OU is 11.

I didn't watch Georgia-Missouri but it sounds like so far Missouri has improved on offense and regressed some on defense. That seemed fairly predictable going into the season. Heupel has a track record of being great at working with quarterbacks. I think he wasn't a great OC at OU but sometimes you grow in to that job so with time he might be a great OC.
