Is it time to admit KC just isn't very good this year? The defense sucks . The offense turns the ball over more than any team in the NFL . The Giants are one of the worst teams in the league and they don't have most of their offense due to injury . Our offensive line run blocks pretty well but can't protect Pat. Pat looks scared and is trying for a td on every play . They need to go back to an Alex Smith type offense ....run heavy ...ball control . Keep that d off the field

Yes, regurdless of outcome this team is struggling with a 2-5 Giants team with most of thier weapons out. Patty should have like 3-4 picks tonight. They somehow find ways to look bad even when they win. They would be lucky to be a wildcard team if this continues even for a few more weeks.

I just have a hard time finding positive things to say about them. Mahomes is awesome in interviews and always says the right thing . He's a coaches dream . The team sucks tho and he's not playing very well . 2 years ago the Patriots played them with 2 high safety's about 25 yards off the ball . It worked . Some teams were slow to adapt. Last year the bucks went full man on in the regular season and hill had over 200 yds in the first qtr . In the super bowl they took on new Englands philosophy and it worked. Now that's the d they see every single week and Reid can't answer it

What I’ve always found frustrating is every other QB who would make attempts he would, would get rightfully called out for it. As risking possessions, and hurting the team. I think he should have starting two years ago had this many INTs. Tbh? I think they are missing having a good RB and Watkins, regurdless if he’s hurt a lot, they only have two dudes people are afraid of.

He’s going to ruin a generation of kids who think taking massive risks, and throwing in double and triple coverages because he doesn’t want to take a 2-5 yard loss. Especially in this area.

I think it's safe to say the rest of the NFL has caught up to them and figured out how to defend for the most part. The defense is not good either obviously.

chiefs have been good, just havent been as great as everyone says they are. Not physical, little to no run game, and defense has holes - cant stop the run. Been the Mahomes show for three years.
They have? This season there opponents in which they beat combined W/L is 8-16. They haven’t beat a single good team. If it weren’t for a easy 4 games thus far? They’d be 0-8.

Yeah it's past time to admit they aren't good this year, or at least not great. The defense is next level bad and every team has figured out how to defend what Mahomes wants to do so the last few years of just outscoring everyone isn't working like it once did. Run game has also been largely absent. Just weird to go from a superbowl level team for 3 years then suddenly this.

Interior O Line is very promising. I all but expected this to happen but not quite this way. Mahomes doesn't have Fisher and Schwartz anchoring the edges anymore and BOY does it show. He is playing so jittery and that is not good for a brand spanking new line's confidence. Funny after that fluky INT I was screaming at my Dad and the TV to play "high school running football".

I find it funny OBJ left the Ravens because he was pouting about going back to his old position in favor of Stanley, and then went back on his “I want to be a raven forever” and his PFF efficiency rating is about as bad as anyone can be in his “better” position. Maybe the ravens didn’t make as bad of a move letting the chiefs have him. He has a bad attitude.

They will but it may take a full season to get it right. Chiefs fans need, overall, to do a complete reality check. This is why going to 3 SBs in a row is so RARE. Only Miami 71-73, Buffalo 90-93 (lost them all) and New England 16-18 have been able to accomplish it.

Slip in there, the Falcons went with 2-High late in the season last year and made it a close game.

I think its time to admit, that my STEELERS are not out of things just yet! Seems ole Big Ben has got some gas left in the tank! And this Chiefs team STINKS!!! The defense is historically bad. Mahomes seems to be regressing. Chiefs? More like the CHEFS!!!

Yeah the truth is the Chiefs are a poor football team right now. Mahomes is not playing well, the offense is sputtering, and the defense is abysmal. But as a Chiefs fan I have no reason to do anything but remain positive. I love how the refrain is always "They've figured Mahomes out!! See we told you this would happen! How do you like him now?!" (not saying anyone on this board is saying that) and I just always think well after 3 AFC title games at Arrowhead, 2 Super Bowl trips, 1 championship, and an MVP season I could probably live with a little let down. We're 4-4 and have pretty much all of our divisional match-ups ahead of us, it might not happen but there is hope we can string some things to together and click at the right time, we just wanna be playing football in January that's all that matters!

I am a lifer, a die-hard, been through many a season we gave games away. None hurt this bad because we thought we were pretty good. Makes me ill to watch teams playing their 2nd/3rd string RB and they look very good. KC does not have one "very good" RB. O Line looks solid for 2 plays then can't gain 1 yard a few plays later. To ME, I think we try to be cute too often. Put Patty Cakes under center and let that RB come down hill. That Rook Trey Smith LIKES to be NASTY - let him be nasty. Oh well, for the first time in a while we wont be picking 30 -something in the draft.

Do you have a at home chef? It looks like it.

I really believe in the Patriots model. They needed to turn over the roster. Only a certain type of player remains the same level of hungry after they reach the mountaintop.

Any chance if Patty doesn’t figure it out he doesn’t make it through his contract? I knew so premature to wonder that, this is the first year of being currently “figured out” but that was a massive contract. It’s hard to build around that.

Mahomes is going to have a great career, possibly even a HOF career. It is just time to pump the brakes on being the best player in the NFL. He is one of the best QB’s and one of the better players but he isn’t Superman. If teams can rush 4 and drop 7 and get away with it his numbers are not going to be exceptional.

If teams can rush 4 and drop 7 and get away with it, is Mahomes really a HOF QB?

II agree but Isn't it that way with most teams/QB's? Tom Brady looked pretty average Sunday while the Saints rushed 4 and dropped 7, and that is 3 of the last 4 that went that way vs Saints.

It is true with most teams QB. Some look much worse than average in that case. Mahomes is still a player to build a franchise around but I think his success out of the gate he is nota going to be duplicate again. Nor will he struggle as much as he has the last few games.

Seems like the book is out. Reid and co need to find a way to counter the double high safety look. Seems simple, but they're struggling with it big time.

Teams are pretty much running a lot of zone or a variation of it. Last night Mahomes went to the check down more than he has ever and had some success. To be honest that is where they need to go more. But teams don't play them man much anymore and you can tell when they send a guy in motion every other play and no one on the defense moves to adjust accept the line. It tells me D's are staying zone and are going to live with the Chiefs beating them running the ball and throwing to check downs. Reid and Mahomes don't want to do that it seems. ITs not high flying, but it can be effective.

Sammy Watkins is a much bigger loss then chief fans are willing to admit. There’s nobody else scary on this team if you can effectively watch and guard Travis and Hill. The RBs are awful outside of possibly Gore.

Anybody else find it odd Josh Gordon hasn't gotten more snaps, especially given the zone looks they're seeing?
Big body and good hands. It seems that Mahomes really only trusts two guys and he needs to learn to distribute to more guys. Gordon can probably win some, if not most 50-50 balls, especially when four defenders are keying on 2 players. Should give him plenty of 1 on 1 situations. They also need to utilize Hardman and Hill more in the tap pass, receiver stay screens as well. Get the ball out quick, block the first guy and let them get the second guy to miss.

It looked like Mahomes first int was caused by Gordon? Then, the Giants immediately return the favor.

Now, Chiefs face Green Bay w/o Rodgers.

If you watch the plays closely, some of them are partly caused by others. Sometimes fully. But, I’m seeing a lot of routes being ran, and Patty is anxious to get the ball in the end zone and he’s rushing his progressions. He used to be able to do this and the ball wouldn’t get picked, or it would get knocked down. Teams are doing a really good job knowing his tendicies. He will have to change some aspects of how he plays. Or the int rate won’t decline very much.

Green Bay if only ARod is out, won’t change the chiefs having a still rough game very much. They can still run, and Adams is still dangerous. The GB D is still really improved from last year. It will be a struggle even so.

Gordon makes such stupid decisions. He also hasn’t been good since his first two seasons why teams keep giving him a shot is beyond me, it reeks of desperation.

Instead of a automatic L this week, they have a chance. They won’t beat anyone full strength that’s good this season if they don’t figure things out.

I watch pretty closely, lol. Gordon reached back and tipped a pass not meant for him. Hey, the Chiefs won (even the trolls have to admit that).

Patty!

Really? That's just silly and juvenile.
