1 Peter 2: 17-18

17; Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

18: Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

The Bible is quite clear that Christians are supposed to honor their leaders. It doesn't say you have to like them, but it does require you honor them.

3R how much honor do you give the current leader of our country? Do you pray for him? For his success as a leader? I ask you because you're the only liberal on here that I think even seriously cares about being Christian.

While Obamas policies were loudly railed against by conservatives he was generally (there are ALWAYS exceptions) shown the respect due a President. Obama was not too high quality either. There were numerous things that could have been made into mountains by conservatives that weren't in deference to the office of President.
To be clear, I HATED Obamas policies and was happy to see him out of office but I never hated the man.

We don't have an Emperor, he just thinks he is one. :p Harsh has nothing to do with my dislike for Trump. I wish he would be successful for the sake of the country but I can't honor a "leader' that constantly lies about EVERYTHING even if the truth would fit better. I have no problem with the order to round up illegal immigrants that have failed to show up for their hearings. I don't think the right way to do so is to announce that ICE is coming at certain time. I'm guessing that would make it much harder to find the people they are supposed to roundup. He is NOT a stable genius.

The Bible isn't unclear about this. You are supposed to support our leaders even if you don't like them.

Does this include leaders like Hitler, Manson, Jim Jones, Koresh, Jong Un, Mussolini, Stalin, Amin, Lenin, and others?

Answer the question you fruit cake coward.

You're not interested in a dialogue. Including cult leaders proves that much (not to mention your past behaviors). So I will pray for you, but I'm not going to engage you. That's beneath me and benefits no one.

Oh I see. You spew out your interpretation of the Bible and then when someone calls you out on your ignorance you bob and weave and avoid any dialogue. That's ok because you do it all of the time. What a coward.

Matthew 7:6: "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces."

Why bother? It's doubtful you care what the Bible says, nor would you understand if someone took the time to educate you. You are fumbling around in darkness like a child. And that's ok, I will still pray that God's light will illuminate you and tear out the hatred in your heart.

God bless. Sincerely.

Romans 13: Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.

Which of those are OUR leaders?
You think Bible is only for the United States of America? I guess Nixon should not have been impeached, that was surely disrespectful. How about the leaders that were voted out after one term?

Doesn't say you have to like them or vote for them.

Biblically, Christians have a civic duty to honor their national, state and local officials. As long we aren’t being coerced to sin against God, following Jesus includes submitting to and praying for all of our public authorities.

So voting them out os ok and throwing them out of office is ok but we should honor them until we throw em out. I got it now.

Is Trump compelling you to sin against God? If not, you're nothing but a hypocrite. A bad excuse for a Christian.

Attack. No discussion. Bad excuse for a Christian.

That's not an attack. I said "if not" and that is an important distinction. I can't say for sure if he is or isn't, but he knows if he's doing what God commands of us as Christians. If he IS praying for our leaders, then none of that applies to him, but it's not an attack to point out that if he ISN'T doing those things then he's being a hypocrite. Not an attack, a statement of fact.

I ain't too sure any of this applies to elected officials, I'm pretty sure Emperors back in the day didn't get voted into office by the people.
