Interesting bill hearing in Jeff City

For anyone that doesn't care to dig through it here is the summary:

This bill prevents public schools in Missouri from being a member of or providing dues to any statewide activities association that allows post-season or tournament-style athletic competition between public and private schools.

So basically it seems like a back door way of forcing MSHSAA to create a new division for private schools.

What big bad private school beats Lebanon who the representative is from?
My guess is Helias but also maybe Vianney or CR over the years?

It's also possible the guy just doesn't agree with HS all-star teams playing public schools?

Texas is pretty much the "Mecca" of HS football. They have this stuff down to a science. If they split theirs up I think it would be a good idea to look into it. Maybe we could also adopt their playoff and scheduling format while we are at it?

Well it's definitely not Camdenton! lol Lebanon owns them. 7 wins in the last 10 years

Still not up to Camdenton standards but in the last 10 meetings, the record is 5-5:

If you go from 2023-2013 (10 years), Camdenton is overall 7-6 against lebanon. Camdenton & lebanon did not play in 2024.

Camdenton wins in years: 2022 (first meeting), 2019 (2 times), 2018, 2017, 2014, and 2013.
lebanon wins in years: 2023, 2022 (2nd meeting), 2021, 2020, 2016, 2015.

So Camdenton is 5-7 vs Lebanon over the last 10 years. Lebanon seems better but not dominant .

Nah, we actually do something in the playoffs so maybe one day if you all can get your act together we can find out.
Interesting. Camdenton is 40-23-1 in the playoffs with 7 state championship apperances. 5 state championships. 3 semis. 12 quarterfinals. 28 district championships. I would think that matches up pretty well against anyone in the state of Missouri.

If the bill is just now in a House committee it is basically dead. There is less than a month left in session.

GOP won't do anything to make things rough on private schools.
If you listened to the committee hearing, there was about 85% support for splitting them. One after another talking about an uneven set of rules. Could see this potentially being added to another bill that will pass. Could really make HB711 interesting if it were added on.
