Inconvenient Facts about "Gun Violence" for Liberals

Of the approximately 30,000 gun deaths annually in the United States:

-60% are suicides
-15% are justifiable (defensive)
-5% are accidental

Of the remaining 20% of gun deaths (or 6000 deaths) 80% are attributed to gang violence.

Meaning there are only 1,200 offensive firearm discharges that result in death under "normal" circumstances.

The term gun violence is the equivalent to the term climate change. Both are so vague you can't argue the point because they always claim you misinterpret the facts.
Of course there is a lot of gun VIOLENCE but, would the violence be eliminated by eliminating guns? What would be the unintended consequences? The founders had lived where guns were controlled and thought it was a vital part of the new country.

If a gun is just sitting on a table and no one messes with it, it cannot and will not kill anyone. It takes some form of human influence, whether that's malice or from human error. The gun by itself CANNOT kill anyone.

Because I want to. Whether they admit it or not, I am, or at least I try to be incredibly reasonable. Most liberals have a hard time with that because they would prefer to engage with some backwoods, Fox News caricature so they can shout them down with claims of "racism, bigotry, and/or religious zealot" I'm none of those things and very middle of the road politically, I just tend to side with conservatives because the Democrats have abandoned Christian white males. Why should I fight for a party that vilifies people like me?
