due to Boone county attendance restrictions Centralia will hold their Homecoming festivities AT South Shelby Oct 6th. This will only consist of a halftime performance by the marching band and coronation ceremony. Strange times.

Seen some schools did a combo senior night/homecoming week 1 incase season got canceled

I see it in rural communities aren't taking it serious. I am not shtting on them, i see it in my hometown and then people are like oh man i can't believe the team has 8 players that got covid from party. Not from football, a party. No one masking or social distancing. So this kind of thing doesn't surprise me at all.

Not a first! I was at a suburban Chicago high school whose stadium was being redone. Wheaton central played Wheaton north at Wheaton north for Wheaton centrals homecoming!

We didn't come from no monkeys and this virus don't exist! You'd be a fool and a Communist to think otherwise!

Carl Junction did that, or at least they had senior night for their first home instead of the last one. Which I thought was actually a pretty smart idea.

Oooooh! This is RIPE with opportunities for a booster club to make some dough! Wanna attend the homecoming festivities? Son or daughter nominated for something? Come on in, after you pay for a $30 ticket!!

Eh, go gag on a Starbuck’s double latte before I run over your man-bun with a hay combine.
Did you drive to town to use McDonald's wifi again? Shouldn't you be out on that "hay combine" getting some work done?

Cards won’t mind.

He’s an honorary doc guy and would appreciate and acknowledge a good derailment.
Don't mind at all. Would have jumped back in sooner, but the 5 post per 24 hour limit got me. 😠 🤬 😡 👿 😤

Sorta back on topic, what seems to be the average attendance percentage so far? They say 25% down here in the Sip, but it seems like more than that. Is it still just family most places?

Visitor side last week. Sold ~2000 tickets we're told. Total capacity is around 11,000. No walk ups allowed, don't even allow same day ticket purchase.

8 football players that had the sniffles for three days, then went back to school fine and dandy. YIKES!!!

You’re missing them point man. Can’t play football if you have Covid, the more you try and stop the spread the less these things happen. So don’t be mad when schools can’t field a team or allow a spectators because of positivity rates.

Kaching are you from that area? Wheaton Central doesn't exist anymore. I went to Wheaton-Warrenville which merged with Wheaton Central to become WW South back in the day.

Joplin didn't allow general admission at the first game but I don't believe there have been any restrictions since.

Carthage is asking fans to wear masks when closer than 6' to others. Maybe 20% wear them. Crowds have been a bit smaller than normal.

At Carl Junction I didn't really see or hear any restrictions. Almost no one had masks. Home crowd looked smaller than normal but pretty good. The Carthage fans were stuffed in like sardines on the small visitor bleachers and others were standing along the fence.

I haven't been to a game at Webb City but a friend said they have no restrictions and the crowd at the game he went to was dramatically smaller than normal.

Im not missing the point, man. If you have it, go home. Then when you’re not sick (don’t feed me the quarantine/incubation crap), come back and play. When you were “exposed” to someone who was sick...Are you actually sick? If no, play. If yes, see above. If that were the actual case, there wouldn’t be any missed games...District of roughly 6000, I think we’re at 9 positives per the dashboard. Yet, we’re treating kids like they’re infectious zombies if they’ve come in contact. Ridiculous.

Cool story. Right now Joplin area is at 80% capacity at hospitals, it’s getting worse in rural areas because of this thought process. Or wear a mask, social distance, and still lead a normal life. Or be made school have to curb attendance. This sht isn’t hard

Good luck convincing this guy that the COVID exists. His answer is "stay at home".

COmpletely agree, but this guy only wants his opinion heard.

Youre right, it’s not. Leading a normal life, for kids (who I’ve been referencing the entire time), isn’t “socially distanced”. I seriously hope, when this ends, that term gets shoved up the arse of whoever invented it.

Cool. So the whole point is, these are the current rules based on the lack of precautions taken and positivity rate etc, that is causing this. There are ways to lower the rate of infection etc. Good luck in your quest to put the conspiracies and murdering the person who invented social distance, which was Louis Antoine Fauvelet de Bourrienne, in 1831, he’s dead now

You sure about JoMo being at 80%? As of yesterday Freeman Joplin only had 25 cases in their hospital.

If a statistic about the tendency of statistics on other topics being wrong a certain percentage of the time is proven itself to be wrong does It lend affirmation that most statistics Should be accepted on face value without thought or in its inexactitude does it actually confirm its original position as correct while being still wrong at the same time?

Joplin is down from where it was a month ago. Also hospitals operate at around 80% all the time. It is how they make $.
It doesn’t invalidate the idea of wearing masks in some areas and social distancing per se but the situation in SWMO is not like it has been in say St Louis.
