The MRVC West had a not so good night: Oak Grove got blown out at Blair Oaks and Grain Valley narrowly escaped a shootout with MEC lower half Benton. Statewide the one I am really scratching my head about is Kickapoo losing to ROLLA. Geez Louise!
Grandview has a nice TB. Unless you know the situation first hand it's hard to be sure why they pulled off a nice win, but perhaps the players showed up for practice, listened to the teachers and made corrections. I write this with all due respect to those that teach kids. It can be that simple.
West Plains was down 24-6 headed into the fourth quarter I believe, and ended up with the comeback win 25-24. The zizzers have defeated Camdenton in 4 of their last 5 meetings. Each victory has came by less than a touchdown. This is the 3rd time in a row that West Plains has defeated lakers on their home field in camdenton.
The Ozark confrense was baffling tonight. Glendale gets smoked by Hillcrest. Kickapoo somehow loses to Rolla and West Plains beat Camdenton ( a team I was very high on preseason) by 1 point for the second meeting in a row

I would have called it highly unlikely given how they opened at home vs. Platte County UNLESS the Pirates, as I am beginning to suspect, are that good.
Also, Liberty(Mountain View) is 0-2 for the first time in quite awhile. They lost to Aurora 28-21. Mountain Grove beat Aurora 46-19 last week I believe. I would say that Mtn Grove is most definitely the favorite to win the SCA this year now.

It just makes Class 3 all the more wide open. Next week Maryville heads to Chillicothe THAT will be something.........wish I could drive up for that.
Here's an exciting small school game. Wellington Napoleon beat West Platte last night 34-30. WP fumbled with 3 minutes left at the WN 5 yard line. Tough way to lose. But WP is much improved over last season.
I'm not that surprised that West Plains beat Camdenton as I thought it was really a toss up game but I am surprised how it happened.
I'm shocked how Kickapoo and Glendale were beat. I guess West Plains has to be the slight favorite to win the conference at this point but the league race is wide open.
West Plains has Glendale at home next week, so that will tell us a lot about the conference race. Lebanon is the only other undefeated team thus far and they've got the Highway 5 rivalry game next week against Camdenton so there is a very good possibilty that their may only be one undefeated team in the conference after next week, but on the same token, there could be no undefeated teams in the conference after next week. It was nice to see rolla get a fairly high profile win since they've really been struggling the last 5 years or so.

I agree. I see the Jays in the middle of the KCI pack definitely not at the bottom this year.

Truman is in for a very long season. Numbers coming into the season were not good and that is unfortunately already showing up.
I see them either 5th or 6th. Ahead of North Platte and Mid Buchanan for sure. We will have to see how it shakes out though. Very top heavy KCI once again this season.

I think it is all Penney at the top. Lathrop and Plattsburg look good early, too. I know Lawson lost a lot to graduation but did not expect this start.
I will agree with you. Penney easily is the best team. Then throw Lathrop, Plattsburg, East Buchanan and Lawson in together. Then West Platte, Mid Buchanan and North Platte.
I will be more convinced after Friday's game. Heading to PC to see for myself.
