Hes a convictsad day when a man enforcing the law must be pardoned by the president for doing his job
What? This is the exact opposite of what he did. He did NOT enforce the law. He did whatever he wanted. He flouted the law.sad day when a man enforcing the law must be pardoned by the president for doing his job
lolsad day when a man enforcing the law must be pardoned by the president for doing his job
This guy's a genius. He persuaded the inmates in his jail to "volunteer" for chain gang duty as an alternative to living in tents in the desert. What? This is the exact opposite of what he did. He did NOT enforce the law. He did whatever he wanted. He flouted the law.
When you read about the things he actually did, man, he's a bad person who does not respect the basic dignity of human beings. Arpaio was a wicked person and the world is better for him being out of power. One can be a strong enforcer of the law and also respect human beings. The list of things his force did is absolutely shocking to anyone with a brain.
This is a bad pardon.
Arpaoio was picking up Illegals who were guilty of offenses such as driving without license plates. The same sort of thing that identified McVeigh as being suspicious enough to warrant holding him in jail until he could be investigated.Hes a convict
A little perspective here:By a bad president
THIS!A little perspective here:
1. If you were in Sheriff Arpaoio's jail it was because:
A) You committed a crime.
B) You didn't have any documentation showing who you were.
C) All of the above.
2. You should have been deported if you met condition C). Now you will be.
Arpaoio was NOT convicted by a Constitutionally-mandated trial by jury. He was "convicted" by a lunatic judge. The Federal Judge who issued the order to open the border to illegal immigration and "convict" Arpaoi for defying the order should be held in Contempt of the Constitution, impeached, and then dismissed from their positions.
If any Conservatives have doubts about Trump, at least be glad he is there to rein in obnoxious federal judges, and to replace them with more even-handed ones when they retire.
When you read about the things he actually did, man, he's a bad person who does not respect the basic dignity of human beings. Arpaio was a wicked person and the world is better for him being out of power.
https://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/crt/legacy/2012/07/18/mcso_complaint_5-10-12.pdfOK, i'll bite. What are these great violations of human rights Arapaio did to the "customers" of his establishment? You surely aren't going to cite pink clothing and balogna sandwiches.
That scene in Pulp Fiction DID make my skin crawl !Sheriff Joe is like the cop who has Bruce Willis in the basement of the pawn shop in Pulp Fiction. The crap he did and allowed makes normal people's skin crawl.
The man is a brutal, racist, redneck scumbag who committed countless crimes and atrocities. Period.
You're killing me smalls. Turn around the quack cap before it's too late. "Brevity is the soul of wit!" You're the opposite of this. You mouth some of my posts and you post this total crap? You are a laughing stock. Your family must be embarrassed.
"Most of the people Obama pardoned were drug Kingpins who manufactured 50 kilos of heroin and were sentenced to life imprisonment after selling it to school children."
That's not remotely true. You do not have the full rights of a citizen but you have plenty of rights. Items like the equal protection clause are consistently applied to anyone in the US.Even though these are opinion pieces, I have no problem if they are correct.
If you come here illegally, you have NO rights.
The judge who convicted him of "contempt" believes he disobeyed a court order. Maybe so, maybe not. At any rate, it should have gone to a jury trial. If a jury had heard the evidence and convicted him, I would agree but the facts today say you're wrong lawyer boy.Arpaio is a perfect example of trump the president. This guy says nice things about me so I'll go out of my way to grant them a pardon.
The Presidency is a transactional role for Trump. Joe likes him and endorsed him so we will ignore the rule of law for him. It's just like him trying to make the Flynn investigation go away because he is his friend.
He is unable to control his emotions. The trump presidency is, first and foremost, a vehicle for the protection and support of DJT and his friends.
She wasn't pardoned. Her sentence was commuted. I disagreed with the decision. I thought it set a bad precedent for what is an extremely serious violation of national security.Maybe Sheriff Joe should dress up in women's clothing and sashay around. If the Dems think he's a transvestite they'll applaud the pardon, like they did when Obama pardoned Chelsea (Wo)Manning who was convicted of "aiding the enemy" (aka "treason").
Nice irrelevant post. Lol. Too easy. She wasn't pardoned. Her sentence was commuted. I disagreed with the decision.
Marc Rich is a better example of personal patronage. And that was roundly criticized.
Spare me this. He was guilty as sin of violating the DoJ order. The judge who convicted him of "contempt" believes he disobeyed a court order. Maybe so, maybe not. At any rate, it should have gone to a jury trial. If a jury had heard the evidence and convicted him, I would agree but the facts today say you're wrong lawyer boy.
Sometimes people criticize bad actions of their side. Arpaio is a bad actor and the pardon is a bad precedent.Nice irrelevant post. Lol. Too easy.
This is kookoo stuff. This is a simple case. He refused to stop violating people's civil rights under the threat of criminal prosecution. So they prosecuted him. We're now getting into the period of "Deep War." Trump's critics have failed to impeach him, or break his morale by slandering him as a "racist." This pardon of Arapaoi is Trump's double-down in the war. The war aims are to:
1. Defeat, or at least roll back, the more extreme "Social Justice Warrior" agendas on the left. Racial equality is fine. Blaming White people for every problem is not. Nondiscrimination against LBGTQ?s is a necessary law. Putting male perverts in the ladies' room isn't.
2. Moderate the Republican RINO Establishment. The Republican Establishment is owned by multinational corporations who want their billionaires to become trillionaires by selling what is left of the USA to China.
Both groups need to be shelved. It will take a deep war, lasting at least another 7.5 years to accomplish that. The 2018 elections will be another battle. Hopefully, the Democrats and RINO's will take a beating, and progress will continue on without them around to throw sand in the gears.

And lots of the people they victimized were citizens. They were indiscriminate in their actions. The biggest criticisms of the DoJ related to treatment of latinos regardless of immigration status. He turned the sheriff's office into a harassment force against brown people of all immigration statuses and in many cases whether or not people had committed actual crimes.

Go try to disobey a federal judge's lawfully issued order and see how well that works for you.
It would be one thing if the DoJ position were crazy overreach. There is a load of evidence that it is not.
And even if you believe that it is the process by which the President interfered is outside the normal bounds of conduct. Pardons are serious matters. He issued this one on a whim.
That's not true. Everyone has certain unalienable rights.Even though these are opinion pieces, I have no problem if they are correct.
If you come here illegally, you have NO rights.
Spare me this. He was guilty as sin of violating the DoJ order.
If someone wants to mandate federal jury trials for petty crime, fine. But that's not why he was pardoned and there is ample evidence of his guilt.
Realistically the average federal bench trial renders a more just verdict on a technical legal matter like contempt of court than a trial by jury probably does.
Proof of what? There's loads of case law about the right of noncitizens in the US. http://www.whitlockgray.com/2017/01/30/do-non-citizens-have-rights-under-the-constitution/Proof of this, thorntree?
I'll wait.
It took BO and GWB years to issue their first pardons after they went through the appropriate DoJ process. They also focused on private individuals they believed were worthy of a sentencing adjustment, not on their friends. Bush's decision to not pardon Libby was one of the high points of his Presidency (and was widely reported as a major break between him and Cheney.)"Pardons are serious matters. He issued this one on a whim".
BAHAHAHAHA .......BJ would never do such a thing, would he? BAHAHAHAHA
Toooo funny
Yawn. Being conservative or liberal is not the issue. The issue is he's a racist who decided the main purpose of his office was to constantly harass brown people regardless of their immigration status. The only thing he's guilty of is being too Conservative.
I would have gave him a metal.
This one will do ...

And the people got to vote on what to do with him last year. He lost by 13 points. the Federal government's decision to point out the failures of his rule likely helped this needed change happen. This was a great outcome overall. The DoJ defended the rights of local citizens against a bad local government.
If he was doing this to whites or jews it would be a yuuugggeeee dealPeople born and raised in the U.S. were being pulled over and harassed by Sheriff Joe's goons because they had a tan complexion. Some Mosports posters think that makes Joe a hero.
