Throwing to the wrong base. Cut off man drops the ball
Baseball, Cubbies style.

26 years ago I went to one of the first night games ever at Wrigley against the Dodgers. By myself. The Cubs sucked then too. But the Italian sausage was good.

I liked McCarver's comment about "little things" in baseball. Said he hated that phrase because there are no "little things". Everything is big because it can and does contribute to wins and losses. We all complain about things the Birds do but when you watch a team like the Cubbies you realize how much more consistent the Cards are than most. Our young guys perform pretty well compared to most teams. That's a testament to the minor league system and coaches. Plus Jose Oquendo who probably doesn't get enough credit.

Baseball

By a bunch of 20 something year olds that the Deadbirds have struggled with all year.....and since the Deadbirds have been in professional baseball

Hang your hats high on that one

Good to see the old deadbirds will be in the playoffs once again. Not bad for a bunch of deadbirds.

Wow thats a lot of teams for Chicago to not have one.
Although Javier Baez has a bright future. He only has struck out 86 times in 192 ABs. Bahahahaha.
Go Cubbies

Baez, and you literally have no idea of his trend maps through the minors

And forgot Castro is 24, Rizzo is 25

Ohhh and Soler, Alcantara, Russell, Bryant, Schwarber, Almora.

Grichuk, Taveras, Carpenter, Wong, Adams, Martinez, Rosenthal, Miller, Lynn, Wacha, Gonzales.
All 20 somethings. Dude we ain't going away any time soon. Hell we have more on the way.

Carp is pushing 30

Most of the guys I just listed just bought their first legal shot of tequila

Most of the guys I listed have extensive playoff experience.
Should be some good battles ahead. We will see how the young
Cubs perform when expectations rise.

Wc we all know what it means when a team that has struggled like the Cubs have this season is able beat the Cardinals. It means they play much harder cause a few wins against St. Louis makes their season. Most teams want to make the playoffs or win a WS, winning a season series against the Cardinals would be like winning a WS for the Chicago.

Sorry, I'll use crayons next time.

I'll try again. 20 something in that sense was 25 and younger, which is a very large portion of the 25 man roster. But you know what, continue living in fantasy land where everything goes the deadbird way.

I'm sure every GM, scout, analyst.... none of them know what they're taking about when they discuss the cubs as being a threat to everyone next year, given how well this team coming together with a good mix of young guys with experience and talented rookies.... like our outfielder who came up and looked like he knew what a baseball bat was

Being a threat and doing it year after year are 2 different things. $20 Cards finish higher than Cubs next year. Oh by the way even if Birds lose tonight they beat the Cubs this year.

Again... beating a bottom feeder by a gamr or 2 in a season series

Hang your hats high and proud there.

It's considerably more than game or two in the standings and that's what counts.

WC you are a dumba$$ Why don't you put your money where your mouth is. By the way I will hang my hat on the Birds success since 1996 or even the entire baseball history now tell me again how the Cubs compare with the Cards.

You suffer from veer syndrome I see. Betting on an online message board. You should seek help

Royals too...but it might just have been true when they were saying it last year.

The truth out of an organization that is no longer being run by the Tribune Company...and has Theo Epstein calling the shots
