"I'm just here so I won't get fined"

Not really a Lynch Fan, but that may of been the best Media Day Responce in Super Bowl History.
And my understanding is they are probably going to fine him for "repeating" that responce to all questions as well. LOL

Think he's getting fined for wearing a hat with his beast mode logo or something like that. Unapproved advertising. He knows the rules on that and just basically said I don't care.

Rodney Harrison had a good point I thought on Dan Patrick yesterday. Basically said Lynch should be using the platform afforded him to be a positive role model instead of just acting like he can do whatever he wants and mocking the rules that he signed up for. Said he's not setting a good example for the black kids who look up to him.

While I do agree that he could use this prime opportunity to be a good role model and show kids how to act, I do agree with his defiance of the rules that are stupid. If an athlete does not want to speak with the media, he shouldn't be forced to. The media getting an interview or asking whatever burning question they have should be something they get if the athlete feels like talking, not a requirement.

Rodney Harrison was one of the dirtiest players in the NFL during his time. And he is talking about positive role model?

If Lynch is ok with the fines and doesn't want to talk, then who cares? It's funny people bash him for not talking yet rip Sherman for saying too much. NFL is really turning into a joke. Isn't the hat he wore the official hat of the NFL? New Era?

Sports Writers are a bunch of whiny self absorbed butt hats.

You guys just DO NOT GET IT do you??? He signed a contract, there are rules within that contract. IF you teach and that school says to wear "Business casual dress & be here at 7:45" then you Do NOT, you ars can be & should be fired.

WHY does so many have such issue with following the rules of your employer?

Aren't there a lot of stupid rules? That being said, it's part of life.

Yes a lot of rules are stupid and are apart of life, but what is one way to change that? Defiance! America was born on Defiance!

What if the man has an anxiety disorder about getting in front of all the cameras and does not want that to be public knowledge? I think it is silly for the players to have to answer to the media. It is always twisted in some negative way no matter the case to make better head lines! They have coaches, GM's and owners who can talk with the media. If I am the players association I would look into it.

They never seem to have an anxiety disorder when a camera is in their face any other time. And he he truly has an anxiety disorder he would have difficulty doing his 7 word response to all questions. Is the media over the top yes, but it isn't anything new. I didn't think CNN would ever leave Ferguson.

Just like you dip shot, Change the subject and make it personal. However that does Not change the facts.

While I do not think he has an anxiety disorder, he just doesn't agree with some of the rules. While yes, he knew about these rules when signed on the dotted line, he has the right to try and change them. Defiance might not be the BEST route but its his choice. I personally would only want to talk to the media when I chose to. Players should not be required to talk to anyone unless they feel the need to.

Well if you weren't such a mouthy little leprechaun I would consider a serious response. The facts are, he showed up and gave an answer to their questions. The NFL can piss and moan all they want, he did his part. Unless they are going to start scripting the players responses? It's just another example of the NFL being butt hurt over a player giving them the finger.

Dude, seriously. My grammar is horrible. But you're taking it to a whole new level(for somebody who is as mouthy as yourself). You and Doc need to take a class together. Maybe do a sit in during conjunctions and proper nouns.

Dude should just follow the rules. Make the fines more so that they actually make a difference. The only reason he makes what he does is because of the media contracts being what they are... its part of the deal.

Part of me agrees there are a lot of stupid rules. However like you said he knew about the rules when he signed. If he wanted to make a statement or a defiance move then not signing would have been he best chance. There are a lot of people who would be more than willing to make what he makes and do what he does and also talk to the media. He made a conscious decision to play for the NFL knowing the rules so he needs to man up and honor them or not cash the paychecks.

A science teacher does not sign a contract with a public school and then in Defiance not teach evolution because they personally don't agree with it. You sign you agree, otherwise don't sign, nobody is forcing you.

He signed to play football, not to appease the "need to know everything right now" crowd. If he's ok being fined for it, it shouldn't be a problem for you guys. Unless you MUST find out what song he is listening to on the way to the stadium, or some other pointless question/answer.

To say he shouldn't have signed to PLAY FOOTBALL, because he doesn't like to talk to the media, is a complete joke.

Personally I don't care what he does not a big NFL watcher just for this reason. Just a bunch of big million dollar babies. However to me it is about principle and doing what you agreed to do in the contract. Let's say you sign a contract to remodel your home and after it gets done you find out that they did not put in insulation because they do not agree it works and think it is just stupid to do it. Now you find out this guy has continued to do it forever has ripped many people off for years but all the government does is fine him. Don't you think at some point his license should be suspended for not honoring his contract. What makes football any different, yes you are right 90% of the questions are stupid who gives a rat about them not denying that. But that is not the point, the point is he agreed to do it when he signed the contract it is not like this was some secret that he did not know about and is protesting that, he knew he is just refusing, so be a man suck it up and answer a few stupid questions and go about your life.

It's just another incarnation of the "it's all about me theme." Take the opportunity to praise your team mates, thank the fans, and tell them your balls have always been properly inflated…it's not that hard. Instead, some of Lynch's team mates get to field questions about him where they feel obligated to defend him.

Someone get this guy a copy of the Crash Davis Book of Sports Clichés.

lol So the guy is a million dollar baby because he doesn't like the media? Good grief. If only I was blessed to have his face time in the media so I could write my $20,000 check to tell goodell and the media to shove it up their rears. The dude is honoring his contract. He sat there today and told them exactly how it is. Gave them more than he has all week. Yet you still have the whiny sports writers blowing up twitter ripping him.

This whole "he signed a contract" thing is correct. He signed a contract knowing he would face the media for PLAYING FOOTBALL. He's made up his mind on how he's going to handle that.

I think we both agree on one thing the media is blowing this up for sure it is stupid however stupid on both sides. Funny how the NFL and a football player can get this much attention for not talking but our politicians always seem to get a free pass....

But sorry I still believe since he knew what he was doing be a man of honor and do what you signed on to do. I know others like you might have been raised different. But my dad was a man of his word and he instilled those in me and taught me if I agree to do something do it, if I don't agree then don't sign up to do it. It is just upsetting to see something that is so trivial( on both sides yes I agree) being blown up because he just refuses to grow up and answer a few simple questions and show a younger generation how to act like an adult. Yet we wonder why today so many young kids in society have issues with authority, but they can see it on TV everyday grown men acting like children, so next thing you know they are J walking on the street telling cops to f off.....

Agreed. He signed up to play football. I still stand with him not wanting to talk to the media and not wanting to follow rules he disagrees with. On the subject of him being fined, which he is not for repeating the same answer, but for his "Beast Mode" slogan on his hat. Would he have been fined for that IF he talked to the media and answered all of their questions? If that was actually against the rules, he should have been fined either way...

If Tom Brady had taken the same approach to his interview the TB haters defending ML would be throwing a fit.

Really? Because I love me some seahags?

You're old, you're telling me it's the same way now as it was 25 years ago?

People and their need to know twitter loving souls can shove it.

Irony in your statement considering I am racist by my politics....(judged by you and your peers)

Dang Kenny I never had anyone respond to one of my posts with back to back responses. Thanks.

Drop does not get it. Man of your word?
Thus he resorts to typical child like behavior. Criticize, name calling. Much like that of an adolesent , in fact an immature adolescent. D tine it is pecker Nat's like you as to why this board has but a few regulars outside of football season.

His whole antic segment bothered me until I got to school and heard our players talking about how big of an idiot ML made himself look like. I didn't put much worry into it at that point.

I think if you sign a contract that says you must be accessible to the media you best plan on being accessible to the media as per your agreement to your employer.

That said, I find it very amusing how personally hurt and offended members of the sports media are over this. Sports media can go on the air all day talking about how a player isn't performing (sucks). I think it would have been a little funny for Lynch to single out 2-3 sports media personalities and turn every question into how those people suck so they could take a little of what they dish out. I also have no problem if he had said, up yours to the media so long as he knows a big fine is coming.

Besides isn't this more fun that talking about Tom Brady's balls?

The policy is be accessible, it doesn't say you have to pander to the idiots and their questions

They ask. He responds

That's a question and answer session. He doesn't have to give an answer anyone likes, just an answer

Typical of understanding his rights? Just because "your generation" doesn't like him saying "I'm just here so I won't get fined", doesn't mean he is wrong.

How hard is it for people to understand he doesn't want to speak? The media always twist stories,so he has a valid reason to not want to speak. But because he has to speak....this is what you're going to get.

Why don't you write an angry letter to the NFL and give them acceptable responses to interviews? 1 of 2 things will happen: 1) They add another rule to the ever growing list. 2) They fine you for writing a letter

Nope, but he is fully in compliance with the rules. It is a response to the questions asked.
