There is a HUGE increase in the chance that someone will die or be injured from a gunshot wound. Accidents, suicides, fits of anger leading to a shooting.

Well it would be real difficult to be injured by a gunshot wound if there wasn’t a gun present wouldn’t it?????I would think about 100% of gunshot wounds happen with a gun around somewhere

What a bunch of friggin rocket scientists

He didn’t accidentally shoot him anyway,,,he aimed and fired and hit his target.

If the gun was on a table and fired without anyone touching it that would be an accident

So you think he intentionally shot his son?

i have been through two combat/tactical training schools. Both taught that you don’t pull the trigger until you are confident of your target.

When he shot and wounded his son it was the result of two stupid decisions. The first was when his son approached him without clearly announcing who he was, the second was when he pulled the trigger not sure of his intended targets identity. The worse was his son not identifying himself. Neither was an accident they were both conscious decisions.

In high stress situations the difference n a good or bad decision is someone ending up dead.

No mechanical device has a will of its own. A gun never “goes off” unless something causes it to do so. Guns are safe. It is people who are dangerous. The wound delivered by a bullet can easily be fatal. This means that you should not expect the luxury of learning by experience. Your first mistake may well be your last. But you need not make it. If you are going to live with a firearm it is your responsibility to learn how to use. it.
