Good list but you only get four! So who comes off?Who is on it ?
Mine is , Pete Adkins , Bob Shore , John Roderique , Scott Bailey , and Fred Buchard .
TREMENDOUS list that brings back a lot of memories! My favorite memory between two of these was Marshall and Camdenton's 20-20 tie at Arrowhead in 1986. Hated the fact MSHSAA didn't have OT but what a game that was!Ron Holtman- St. Louis Country Day/MICDS (382-102-8) 7 State titles
Dewey Combs- Parkwood (213-65-14) 3 State titles
Hugh Dunn- Macon (234-148-15) 0 State titles
*Tony Severino- Rockhurst (337-87-1) 7 State titles
Pete Adkins- Jefferson City (405-60-4) 8 State titles
*John Rodrique- Webb City (273-24) 11 State titles
Ted Chitwood- Raytown (231-100-13) 0 State titles
Gil Rector- Lexington (231-90-4) 5 State titles
Bob Fairchild- Chillicothe (307-76-3) 5 State titles
Bob Shore- Camdenton (367-98-3) 5 State titles
Lawrence Walls- Sumner (248-53-2) 4 State titles
Cecil Naylor- Marshall (234-99-4) 1 State title
Fred Bouchard- Palmyra/Bolivar/Harrisonville/Staley (201-47) 5 State titles

The thread got doc guy-jacked..............
Oops... my bad!The thread got doc guy-jacked..............
Bailey would have to keep on the current pace for another decade or so to even begin discussion about bumping anyone from that list of four coachesIn a few years Bailey might bump someone but as of today IMO:
Rodrique
Adkins
Severino
Shore

Adkins beyond any doubt is easily top of that list for now with 405 career wins. JRod needs another decade plus to have any chance of reaching 400+ and consideration for that discussion of top all time but definitely in top four
Not saying John can’t take the spot eventually and arguably may already be there. One of the most unassuming people I know. He would likely defer to any of the other 3 on that list at presentCoach A: has 91.9% win pct and 11 titles (at least 2/3 of those wins against schools with higher enrollment)
Coach B: has 86.8% win pct and 8 titles
There is plenty of doubt who tops that list...
I don’t think Nick Saban needs as many career wins as Joe Paterno to be the top coach. Both are legends. Just as coach A & B are.

PERFECT picks Joe!! On a more Missouri note, Chip Sherman
Of my list above the following have stadiums, fields or athletic complexes named in their honor.
Pete Adkins Stadium- Jefferson City
Ron Holtman Stadium- SLCDS/MICDS
Bob Fairchild Field- Chillicothe
Hugh Dunn Field- Macon
Ted Chitwood Stadium- Raytown
Gil Rector Stadium- Lexington
Dewey Combs Athletic Complex- Joplin
Steve Hancock reached 304 wins this year, is only coach in Missouri to have district titles in class 2,3,4,and 5. Stockton, Branson, and Spfg Catholic. No state titles, 2 2nd place finishes, numerous semi appearances. So much more than winning defines a coach. Being to transition from the 70's coaching atmosphere to the current atmosphere is challenging. Many great coaches in Missouri history.

Bob Shore has 5 state titles - 1986, 1987, 1995, 1999, and 2005.
I think it would be hard to narrow the successful coaches in Missouri to just 4. You have to remember this good ol boy named Jerry Kill and maybe even Kurt Thompson.
