It will be the 2nd year in a row that a team from the MRVC West Conference has won a state title without winning the conference title. Harrisonville defeated Oak Grove 34-30 in 2014 before they finished (14-1) Class 3 Champions. Harrisonville defeated Odessa for their only loss of the 2015 season 55-23. Harrisonville would win the conference title in 2014 and 2015. When was the last time something like this happened?

Oak Grove also lost to O'Hara last year in the regular season (before avenging that loss in the playoffs).

I think this is JB's best chance since Richmond to finally break through (not that they haven't done won it before, just not in there last four trips...)

They had their a decent chance against LR too.. Elliott dropping the ball on the 4 was untouched into the end zone to tie it up... That was mind boggling to watch...

But I would definitely agree.. This is their best chance.

Booneville. Just before he came to Kearney.

He also helped Booneville win the state title in 1974 as a player.

The running back at Odessa is a STUD!!! They have a big O-Line and a receiver that can go get it. The problem against Harrisonville was that Odessa had some success on Offense, but the same guys couldn't turn around and play defense, and Harrisonville did what they wanted. I knew then, that Odessa would be a tough out in class 3. Just as good if not better than the Oak Grove team from last year.

Yes. Hardin is one amazing player! Hard to believe this is his first year of HS football.....

yes it is his first year playing, Thomas and the OC Palmer will put them in the best place to be successful and have a great game plan.

I agree. After watching Odessa against Harrisonville you could see they had a shot to make a deep run in the playoffs in Class 3 this year. Big offensive line, great running back, tall wide out, and an capable quarterback that does the right things to make the offense go.

I have seen Odessa play, their size and toughness will be too much for JB. That RB is a one man wrecking crew.

but if it comes down to a late field goal, Odessa loses. That is their weakness.

You are dead on about the kicker. He is the tall WR, and he straps a device to his shoe to make the toe square so he can kick it old school strraight on.

Not sure what kind of running backs JB has this year but they usually have a fast one. If Odessa can keep them contained they should have no problem winning

JB will want a shootout high scoring game. Odessa needs to grind it out and have slow pace game using up clock.
