Fowler needs to be out. And you can decide whether to take out Wong or DeJong.

Randy A
Edman
Goldie
Ozuna
Jose
Muñoz or Wong
Yadi
Muñoz or DeJong

I have no argument against playing either one of those guys (or both, as you suggest). Got to try something different to shake things up.

Too late. Should've done it last night. Shildt may be a TLR disciple, but he's got shades of MM with the stupid reliance on vets no matter of how bad their performance is. If he wants to consider himself a Skipper clone, somebody needs to remind him the Skipper benched Rolen in '06. Shildt has a bit of MM's ignorant stubbornness too soon in his managerial career. Managing in the postseason is in a tight vacuum. A lot different than the regular season. You don't sit on slumping players when you drop two at home to start the series.

I don't remember yesterday much less 10 years ago. But wasn't Rolen hurt when that happened and he was insisting on playing through it? Maybe I'm mis-remembering. That's happens a lot.

Shildt is experiencing what MM went through with Fowler. Mike was hammered for not allowing Fowler to play regardless and Wong too for that matter. They didn't like being forced to actually produce to get playing time. Shildt got lucky last year when Fowler got hurt and then with Fowler not being completely terrible most of this year. Sadly we're going to see it again next year. He isn't going anywhere.

He was hurt, but was playing through it. And not hitting. And Rolen is a helluva lot better than Fowler could ever dream of being. Rolen had also been playing through that injury for most of the second half of that season. It's not a tough decision or a tough call. But he won't make it. There's a reason he was groomed and handed the job. His puppet string are longer than most.

He did get lucky when Fowler got hurt last year. I think MM got hammered for not playing Fowler and Wong from the execs, not the public. Most of the fans that have a clue about the game hammered MM for the in game strategy and stubbornness despite having no previous managerial experience. He relied on gut feelings. And if you paid enough attention, most didn't care for the WASPy clique stuff going on in the clubhouse.

Honestly, I think they're both pretty poor at their jobs. Shildt claims to be analytics based but rides his gut far too much. I don't get it, other than when he has to make a big decision he just gets deer in headlights.
