Hypothesis: Alabama football is overrated.
Evidence: Hoover got blown out by IMG.
Research apparently not done by OP: how many players on IMG that were recruited to Bradenton from Alabama high schools.
Hoover is a traditional powerhouse in Alabama, made up of kids from Alabama.
IMG is a facility unlike anything else in the US with a multi-million dollar budget that recruits Power 5 prospects from across the country. It's a state of the art, world class training facility for all sports that really has to be seen to be believed, housing thousands of wanna-be professional and collegiate athletes from golfers to tennis prodigies to athletes training for the NBA or NFL draft.
If you think your kid is a tennis prodigy and you want to send him/her to IMG for world class training and year round sunshine, it costs more to attend there per year than Harvard.
I have been there multiple times, it's located in Bradenton, which is south of Tampa and north of Fort Myers on the west coast of Florida. It actually has a four star hotel located on campus that you can stay in ... To be honest, I've never seen anything else quite like it. It would make the facilities at most universities seem bush league.
The 2019 IMG senior class produced 25 players who signed with Power 5 schools. Several recruiting services said that the class would have been a top 15 recruiting class if its top prospects had all signed with the same school.
IMG recruits players from all over the country, and among it's biggest hot beds of talent is Alabama.
Drawing a conclusion about the level of football being played in Alabama based on the performance of Hoover against IMG is rather silly, to say the least. Especially when you consider the fact that many of the best players at IMG are actually from Alabama.
