I sat up straight in my chair

Taking away half the field when passing?Yes. Giving up half the field when a ball carrier was headed to his half of the field. Also yes. Dion was a great cover guy, but come on he was never know as a great tackler.

can you show where anyone said he was a “great tackler”? Was he going to take on your fullback at the LOS? No. But with his speed he could get angles on people and run them down where others couldn’t. Good grief. What next? Ozzie Smith was bad because he never hit 20 homeruns in a season?

If you actually knew football you would know he wasn’t that bad of a tackler and you don’t have to tackle much when you have taken away 1/2 of the field. Additionally, that dck response is like complaining that Pam Anderson was a crappy cook.
THIS!

Deion isn’t even in the same area code with Ronnie Lott. Lott made the pro bowl as both a safety and a corner, and he could deliver some serious punishment to a receiver.

Lott was a great player. See, it’s ok to appreciate greatness and not diminish others. Lott could do things Prime Time couldn’t. Prime time could do things Ronnie couldn’t. Both still great.

Deion wasn’t a great tackler but “ he knew how to use the sideline.” We only heard that every game he played in.

yes and Babe Ruth wasn’t a great base stealer.
Joe Montana wasn’t as fast as Roger Staubach.
Haters gotta hate.

No hating on Deion , just an opinion of a nobody middle aged non athletic guy. I actually liked watching him and I loved the story of his 40 time.

Duck, which would you have taken?
BO or Deion?

Well one played in 38 games and one played in 188. If you meant before hand wouldn’t that depend on what your needs were? Pretty dumb to draft Bo if you needed a Dback and vice versa. Hard to beat out deion but I would say with the shortness of his career there are plenty of backs based off their careers I would take over Bo. Sanders, Smith, Peyton etc..

Not knowing their futures, I think you would have to draft Bo over Deion. Especially if he would have stated that he wouldn't play baseball.
Speaking of that. Did you know the Royals drafted football players much better than the Chiefs? The Royals drafted Dan Marino, John Elway and Bo Jackson.

Y’all act like BO was Barry Sanders. He was great because he played two sports and was thought to be a phenom. In his 4 years never had a thousand yards, averaged 5.4 a carry and 8.8 a reception. Great numbers but never had two hundred carries in a season and caught double digit passes once. He got on the field because Davis was an idiot and I thank him for that. That got us five years with the GREAT Marcus Allen. As far as the Royals and CHIEFS draft picks. I think Wil Shields, Tony G, Derrick Thomas, Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes etc were pretty damn good picks.

Bo was a far better football player than baseball player. The reason he never hit 1,000 yards or 200 carries was because he only played football part time, because of baseball. I'm a huge Chiefs fan, but if the Chiefs would have drafted Dan Marino instead of Todd Blackledge, their history would be drastically different than it is today.

Bo would have no camp and come in at mid season. I assumed people knew that......
That’s why his stats weren’t crazy good.

We will never know. Coulda drafted Marino and he got in a car accident leaving the draft..and never played a game. History can’t be rewritten..

As far as Bo not having 200 carries because of baseball is goofy! 88, 89, and 90 he played 10, 10 and 11 games. 200 carries is 20 carries a game. Averaged a reception per game.

Who didn’t? You are always such a smart ass. “People” used camp to get in game shape. Bo came out of playing baseball he was in shape. And he would miss the first 4-5 games not half the season. He still played double digit games and didn’t get 200 carries any season? Marcus Allen carried more than twenty times often and averaged 5 receptions a game. I think he was a very special athlete but with only 3.5 seasons of work I don’t think he was “one of the greatest”

I would say playing two professional sports at a high level is pretty great but you are the expert on everything so thanks for your input. It will come in handy if I ever decide to be an a-hole.

When aren’t you an Ahole? Even though I said smart ass. Uhm just about every post you reply to someone you mouth? “He would have no camp blah blah blah, I assumed people knew that” yeah that’s smart ass. Being a great athlete and being considered one of the greatest running backs ever in the NFL when one has only played in 28 games is quite the stretch. I don’t know where Bo belongs in the rankings but to put him anywhere in the mix of the top guys would be ridiculous.

Yes, that silly Heisman trophy thing calling him the best player in the country after being All American twice was an aberration. My bad.

And just for, in baseball he was a .250 hitter with power. Average player in stolen bases, 141 homers in 7 unfull seasons. Only time he led either the NFL or MLB in anything was in 1989. He led the MLB in strikeouts...congratulations..

Didn’t realize they gave out the Heisman in the NFL. Oh you’ve been saying he was the best college player all this time. My bad I thought you were talking about the pros... goob. I wonder if there have ever been heisman busts? I mean according to Dick Weed if you win the Heisman your the greatest to ever play.. My congratulation to
Johny Manzel, Ron Dane, Gino Torrieta, Matt Lienart, and Tim Tebow you are all inducted as NFL greats!!

Bo Jackson wasn’t good at anything—-Wc3peat, genius.

Youre an idiot...Being a great athlete and being considered after 28 games one of the best running backs of all time as in your mind ridiculous. Of course as you explained to blue and white you know everything... Dick Weed “the Heisman winner of Knowledge”...

Memphis in the College playoffs, LMAO...

Oh yeah??? Go play as Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl, then tell me he wasn't the greatest RB ever to strap on cleats!

Why would you give Bo the ball? Just throw it up to Rice! Techmo Bowl GOD. Originally Sayers and Payton were the top then they went to more of the team thing. Okoye was the beast, Bo was just the fastest.

Loved seeing Bo play but Deion owned half the field. Dude was flat out electric.. It was like throwing a 50/50 ball even if your dude looked like he was open. That is not even counting what he could do as a return man... oh and he even played a little offense...
