Train you guys need get back in the P.B. Showdown, not so far from home and some pretty decent teams in it that you don't see all the time.Same to ya Metro
The Sikeston train will be loaded up and headed to the Lou this week
Hey Metro Jonesboro put a good ole country whooping on Vachon in P.B. tonight. It was 81-63 and never in doubt in the 2nd half. I was told the kid on the end of the Jonesboro bench in warmups is their best player and he hasn't even played in this tourney.Happy Holidays--Sikeston Train

But wait I thought Vashon. Couldn't be beat , that has to be a mistake
Leech did not play, I think he is out for another 2 weeks. Since when is Vashon a 'small school' in St.Louis? Last time I checked they are in class 4 out 5 classes and they get to choose from a much larger pool of players than Jonesboro or Sikeston. Jonesboro had no player over 6'5' playing in this tournament and they beat up on Vashon and Kenwood out of Chicago who beat Vashon for the tourney title last year. Both teams were much bigger and have good guards too.Jonesboro, Ark. is very good. They are ranked # 2 in Arkansas and 24th in the national polls. Jonesboro may have put a wake up call on of the St. Louis area's best small school. It is my understanding the Vashon Wolverines knew this defeat was coming but they want to play a few teams who are better then they are. Some high school coaches don't mind getting beat by a few larger high school for the better of the good. ( Win against teams they are supposed to defeat and steal a couple of games when they are the underdogs. )
3Rfan, Poplar Bluff will be lining up with Vashon tonight, I'm guessing Marcedus Leech will be playing for the Mules to have a chance for the win.
The St. Louis area only has about 7-8 good teams ( Missouri side ) a few average teams and a lot of sub par teams. The Coaches vs Cancer Christmas Tournament @ Meramec will feature 4 of these teams tonight in semi final action.
6:30 PM-----St. Mary's vs Hazelwood Central
8:00 PM-----SLUH vs Webster
St. Mary's is expected to give Vashon a major challenge in the class 4 sectionals. Vashon will be an underdog when Webster calls latter in the season. C. Gordon will be playing and that could be bad news for Tony Irons and the Wolverines.

Class 4 is not a small school in the rest of Missouri. The playoffs are not set up for the St.Louis area system, it's the whole state. besides as you have explained to us Vashon can enroll players from all over St.Louis so the 'school enrollment 'numbers mean nothing! Do you really believe they came to P.B. expecting to lose a game? They lost to Kenwood in the championship game last year, I'd bet they thought they had a good shot at winning it this year.St. Louis has a small school ranking ( Under 1, 000 students in high school ) and large school ranking ( Over 1,000 in high school. ) Vashon has under a 1,000 students therefore the Wolverines are in the small school ranking.
SLUH defeated Webster by one point in the semi-finals tonight
St. Mary's ( Small school ) defeated Large school Hazelwood Central by 6-7 points.
# 1 St. Mary's 10-0 and # 3 SLUH 10-3 plays for the championship of the Coaches vs Cancer Christmas @ Meramec tomorrow evening. I have this game a toss up.
